Well according to a lot of sources we offered £5million for Hooper. If we get this bloke City will have paid £1.5million for two strikers suggesting another £3.5 million is still in the kitty for either a third striker (I hope) or maybe a midfielder / winger. Out of interest has anyone been adding up how much SB has spent so far considering the figure of £15million was being discussed after we were promoted?
Craig you've failed to take into account there that we will have paid a seven figure loan fee to Sunderland for graham.
I don't think we'll have paid anywhere near £1million to loan Graham unless it's part of a final fee we have agreed to.
I think the loan fee will be around 1-1.5 million, established players aren't loaned out cheap specially when they cost 5 million 6 months ago, but as you say it's probably in part of a TBUB deal where the loan fee will be knocked off the final price if we decide to make it permanent.
I think the reason we don't have him on a permanent is because Sunderland wanted more than we were prepared to pay. If he was available for anywhere close to £2 million I'm sure he'd be a fully time hull city player already.
He cost them £5m and he's had a nightmare since, I suspect the permanent option we'll have won't be higher than £2.5m.
Loan fee will be in the region of £500k I'd have thought. The only issue I see with loaning from another Prem club is he can't play against his parent club in 2 games. Games which I think would be winnable.
Correct me if I am wrong but if we pay a fee for loaning a player I was under the impression there could not be a clawback of the player and Bruce certainly mentioned the option was there in January.
I bet this European striker business is just a smoke screen and Bruce is currently scouring the South American market for the next hidden gem as we speak
Loans are almost always split into 2 seperate 6 month deals with the fee being paid half here and half there so I'm told by a lad I know who plays in league 2 now.
To be honest, PDC has made it clear he doesn't feature in his plans for Sunderland, so I'd have thought that if he does well enough, we'd probably just buy him anyway.
