Chinese nationalist and revolutionary. a hero of mine who should be recognised up there with Trotsky, Paine, Castro, Jefferson and Guevara.
Hey, that aint right Donga, Cromwell was an evil bastard and in no way revolutionary. I think Collins fits in wit the list of guys you posted, Cromwell in no way does.
Suppose it depends where you stand. Cromwell was a revolutionary before Collins was a twinkle. Collins may be considered as a traitor whereas Comwell was loyal to the State but opposed to the leadership. How do you know that Collins was not also an "evil bastard"?
Obama's hand was forced yesterday, he called for review of ground law. Senate panel to review 'stand your ground' laws http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...von-stand-your-ground-senate-hearing/2568677/
Yeah, bit of Paddy-baiting there! Was a sort of revolutionary, republican though if you put him into the context of the 17th century, Remember, he chopped off the head of a monarch 140 years before the frogs did, and you can trace a direct line from Cromwell and his influence and ideals (and he did have them, as did the whole Roundhead movement/army) to the American revolutionaries of the 1770's. Made an horrendous mess of Ireland though - but put that into the context of contemporary massacres from both sides, and the main reason he went into Ireland was to respond to the massacres of Protestants. But anyway, if you believe in Parliamentry democracy you owe a debt to Cromwell, far, far more than Magna Carta and the Bill of Rights.
It was a bit of banter, that is clear from a read-through. The bullshit I refer to is your personal bullshit concerning Ireland England and that is what I refer to. I do not hold such grudges and see little difference between Ireland and England especially in current times. A conversation to that effect will not go well, thats obvious to even the most thick person. The fact you even try compare a regicidal dictator to Collins is ****ing laughable. I offered Collins to Donga's list of revolutionaries as a little poke, and he responded in kind and I jokingly made my reply cos we've no love for Ollie in a general context, I couldn't give a monkeys about either Michael or Ollie and you fueled with your misguided tribalism took up the mantle of defender of all things English I was talking to Donga, he was talking to me, and you jumped in with your own personal bullshit, keep it to yourself I retract any direct\personal insult Red, not needed I stand by the rest
Quite right too. THIS is the main thing imho, and the concept of what us Brits called "reasonable force", especially if one person is unarmed. But hey, it's America and we can't impose our morals and standards onto them, and they do seem to love their guns.
The gun toting NRA guy whats his name, he won his battle to get the law introduced in the early 2000s. 2 guys shot a teenager in 2010 as well in Florida and the prosecutors went ****ing mental that they got off a murder charge under that law.
