I'm touched, guys. I'll start spreading some syphilis and rep of my own and see if that unsticks the system at all. EDIT: Scratch that, apparently I've repped everyone too recently
I don;t understand this rep business, but as I have minus 165,000 odd, everyone on here have some rep peeps
I like how this thread has become the F1 rep thread In all fairness Susie looked to be driving very smooth yesterday, and went through the pits an insane amount of times practising stops. I wouldn't say she has the skill (or years remaining) to compete at F1 but she was far from the worst driver there. Sato in the Sauber looked as ragged as anything, locking up and missing lines all over the shop.
I'd say yes, but that doesn't really mean much, as he's crap, that said he drove on the first, and slowest day, and she drove on the fastest day when the track was rubbered in, and she was nearly a second slower than her team-mates on a track she knows in a car she's very familiar with.
Whilst it's absolutely true that Gutierrez and Chilton are not F1 standard by any means. They did finish 3rd and 4th in GP2 last year and that's a hell of a lot more than i imagine Susie Wolff will ever achieve.
I don't think Wolff will ever really get a race seat, she hasn't got age, money, or ability really on her side, but if Williams think she's a good enough development driver, then it's an extra bit of publicity for them, which is nice. Personally I'd question whether she is good enough to be their development/simulator driver, due to her lack of single-seater experience, the fact Williams don't really appear to be recovering this season doesn't help her case, but that's much more likely to be a larger problem than a single driver.
Not sure why it matters if she's a woman or not... There are plenty of under-par drivers out there that pay for the pleasure of getting to drive a F1 car... the absence of a penis has no bearing on the matter.
