Whats the pinnacle of your sporting career and also what is the most embarrassing?

The pinnacle for me was winning a league in a large company I worked for some years ago, a great tourney

the most embarrassing was at the same company, our team was to play patients from a mentally challenged hospital, we got destroyed by them 14-1 I think it was, the spectating crowd loved it though<laugh>

The worst: Playing against the best team in the league for my Sunday league team, we were up one nil up until the final minute, that was when they flung the ball in to the box, the ball was drifting out for a goal-kick, but I strangely punched the ball out of the air and gave away a penalty, they scored and it ultimately knocked us out of the cup we were in.

The best: Never really won anything, I played for a team that lost every game one season. Was a CDM, so didn't have much screamers but I did score a Zidane-like volley from 20 yards that rattled in off the post.

I was the keeper on the end of that 14-1 thrashing<grr>

  5. Worst: snapping my arm during a game

Most Embarrassing: getting hammered 17-2 when facing team full of lads I knew <doh>

Best: Winning a five-a-side league title and topping the leagues scorer charts despite being our main defender (I have a fairly powerful shot so not to shabby from range plus I took the penalties).

Favourite: Winning two individual awards in one Sunday League season; most assists and most goal line clearances <ok>

I played Rugby for the best U15s team in Wales. Playing alongside Mike Phillips of Wales and the British and Irish Lions. I am now shut at Rugby. <ok>

  9. I was defending our goal. I went in for an aggresive (too aggresive) tackle and won the ball. If I hadn't had done that we'd have lost 9-0 rather than 8-0!!!

Best: Dunno really, won quite a few leagues and promotions over the years and they've always felt pretty good at the end of the year. Only won 1 cup (out of 3 finals) and it was against our closest rivals so that was pretty damm good. Only downside was that I didn't play all that much of the final as I was playing as sub (Hockey have rolling subs, so I played more than I would had it been football).

Worst: Winning the award for most ducks in a season (Cricket) and getting hit in the dick by a Hockey ball was a pretty low point.

Best: Either beating top 20 in the world pool player or all the tries in a 36-0 rugby match.
Worst: Vomiting half way down the 100m track or vomiting on the rugby pitch after scoring a try after just coming on. Played 3 minutes and havent been on a pitch since.

    Smoking and sport dont mix.

Except the pool all that happenned along time ago. Currently I would have to say knocking 3 minutes off of my 5k run pb last saurday in blistering heat.

Love this thread, great to see everyones achievements. Well done
