    What does?

I'd be this bothered if Yeovil were doing it.

When are you sorting your dosshouse of a stadium out. Quite frankly its embarrassing

If you need to cheat the system to avoid relegation then so be it

Good call AKCJ, I don't trust those sneaky bastards either ... with their slopey pitch and their green and white stripes ... I suspect they are a Celtic feeder club and will have a load of jocks on frees...

Proud - How much TAX do you think you pay when you buy foreign players?

Never let a good story get in the way of truth. Yeovil moved away from their sloping pitch over 20 years ago. <laugh>

How many small business companies and individuals suffered when you went bust? That is what is wrong, clubs that just write off their debts then start to build them up again.

Small point on the tax issue:

Tax avoidance involves maximising the tax deductable parts of your accounts so that you minimise your profit and pay less Corporation Tax.
Watford are minimising the tax deductable parts of their accounts so they're increasing their profits and will be paying more tax as a result.

I've yet to see HMRC have an issue with someone underdeclaring their expenses. (Other government departments would have an issue).

    Imagine this scenario.

You own a team in Serie A that regularly challenges the big teams in Italy for a Champions League spot. You also have a team that is generally in the lower reaches of La Liga. Finally, you have a third team that is in the second tier of another league, and has a small stadium with little room for increase.

    You have two options:
    1) you sacrifice your Champions League aspirations and your place in La Liga by transferring your best players to the second tier team. Victory in that league MAY provide you with enough income to increase the second tier team's stadium by a few thousand.

    2) your two top tier teams have a number of players who are quite good but not good enough to get regular game time. You can end their contracts or use the lower league team as a shop window for them and get some return on your investment.

Clearly there are many on this board who believe these hypothetical owners will choose option one.

Tax avoidance can come in many different forms. Cheating accounts which Watford POSSIBLY are doing could be seen as tax avoidance

If they are getting Udiense to buy them Lionel Messi for 5M and then Udiense are selling Messi to Watford on a free transfer then Watford have cheated the FFP system for starters and its possible that could be cheating HMRC not declaring their spending properly

Obviously your going to be biased and I dont blame you but even the Watford fans can see you basically taking the piss out of the football League with this and cheating FFP.

I dont think it will be long before the Ian Holloway's of this world pipe up about it do you?

Everyone knows the rewards for getting promoted to the Premier League. Don't be so naive.

The rewards for getting into the Premier League are short term. Very few promoted teams stay there for more than a couple of seasons. The costs are also enormous.

Messi and tax avoidance in the same post. You're smarter than I gave you credit for. Then again...
