I go to the Cardiff thread because it can be overcrowded here sometimes, nothing like a bit of peace and quiet in an empty room. PS. Bony is 150% better than that kid they bought, if not more.
And where do you think the Papers got it from. Straight from the official site. Maybe that is why it is the same.
Graced is correct Phil, but not by a state pensioner yet - I've got my own personal ones running and they're very nice too thanks very much..... I'm 55 (56 this year) Phil - probably younger than you, you old berk....... ....and VETCH - dress it up as you like, but being all over Laudrup and Huw like a rash a few weeks back is absolutely correct. Things weren't going as you would have liked it at the time with Laudrup's agent and Huw's apparent tight-fisted approach. All is apparently well with the world right now. Funny how times change - and they will again.
...and you know this? That must be why you paid all that money then. Like I said before - we'll just have to wait and see.
Things are going just fine here, sparky, thanks for your concern. There was never a rift between Messrs Laudrup and Jenkins. The problem,if there really was one, with Laudrup's agent simply went away. No damage done. You are so right about Huw. Such a tight fist. I suggest you take a few minutes and check Swansea City's transfer dealings of recent weeks and you will see just how tight he was.
Lib, I hope it works out for the swans but it seems things happened after the perceived threat of Laudrup leaving. Good luck anyway, I loved watching Laudrup play and hope he does well with you guys.
"perceived" by whom, taff? Not by me. Not by anyone I know. I suspect when you use the word "perceived", you,and your fellow Cardiff fans, really mean "hoped for". Managerial change at The Liberty would suit you all very nicely. It didn't happen,so deal with it. The media created a situation that simply did not exist, and despite their constant insistence that Laudrup was leaving to go goodness knows where,he didn't leave. He is still the Manager of Swansea City F.C. He has intimated that certain Clubs made approaches for his services, but he declined the advances. We may not be so lucky next time. It's all very disconcerting, and since no other Clubs seem interested in Mackay,it's something you and your Club don't have to contend with. It was the same when Dave Jones was with you.He was there for 6 years or so. Why was that then? Because he was loyal? No,it was because nobody else wanted him. Swansea City Managers, however, are highly prized, and Laudrup is no exception. We have to live with uncertainty, but one thing is for sure - we will continue to live with it,and thrive in the process.
Lib, I guess you didn't read the thread started by NJ about your bad news week or the other threads dealing with the ML rumours. I agree with your points but must point out MM and DJ were both linked with other clubs. How far the interest went is open to debate but makes it none the less true.
So what you are doing is speculating that we only spent on the threat of ML leaving. As you said earlier on the thread directed at Valley, Speculation is Ignorance. Taff stop speculating and I thought you only dealt in facts. Pot and kettle again.
Your ignorance is mind boggling Taff. Laudrup has never threatened to quit, he has always reiterated his desire to remain with us for at least one more season. The issue was between his arsehole agent and Huw Jenkins, to which ML said it was none of his business. Before posting, make sure you get your information correct first as you are making yourself look a little silly now. Go and concentrate on keeping your owner sweet
"Speculation"..... fecking 'ell Trundle, that's rich. You lot are the past masters of it across here, and Dai has got his PhD in it. We've seen it all - administration in the past, bottling it last year, going down this year, VT jumping ship.......you couldn't make it up (well you lot could anyway ) Let's just say that nobody knows anything really, though there are some on this forum who claim to have the inside track on your club and post vague stories. What will be will be, and if Laudrup gets you further up the table than he did last year, that will be a tremendous achievement. If we stay up, then that will be seen as an achievement on our part. Everything else is "speculation".
Taff, the "bad news" you are referring to was as a direct result of media speculation, and as such became a matter for discussion here, hence Norway's very excellent,(aren't they always),thread "Bad news week" which I did read. You seem determined to find some chink in the set up at Swansea City, something that will take your mind off the shambles that is Cardiff City. You are wasting your time. Media speculation is just that - speculation. I have been on 606 Forums since 2007 and not once did I hear/read any suggestions that either Dave Jones,or Mackay have been persued by any other Club's. However, you are free to produce the necessary documentary proof, should you feel the need.
Lib, were both Laudrup and MM not linked to the Everton job recently? Trundle I did not say speculation was ignorance. Valley I did not say Laudrup threatened to quit.
Taff,Laudrup's name has been recently "linked",whatever that actually means, with numerous Club's across Europe. Mostly media produced nonsense, since plucking names from mid air has no real value. Since I don't have the interest in Cardiff that you clearly have in Swansea,I am unaware of any serious "link" involving Mackay to any particular Club. So you produce one tenuous link to cover the period since 2007. Good work.
If you check Norway's thread, I was the one that first Stated the issue was between Jenkins and Laudrups agent, long before the media got wind of it! Matter of fact I called him a glorified 'car salesman and spiv', who was causing all sorts of problems!! So while I never thought the issue was between Laudrup and Jenkins, there could well have been some fall out, if Laudrup had not been a man of his word (rare breed theses days) though there was some strained relationship between Huw and Laudrup for a few weeks, but it's history now, as we have subsequently backed our manager, thank goodness!...........
