Yes, you can sell half the squad and stop your manager offering players double what they are on elsewhere - or do you think your owners can slip some money through via sponsorship or advertising (which UEFA will not allow anymore?)
The fact that we havent signed players that are urgently needed shows that we are not going to get round the rules of FFP. One of the rules is along the lines of 'the spirit of FFP should be adhered to by clubs' - cant be arsed to look up the actual wording again. It is intended to be a fail safe to avoid clubs looking for and using loopholes. Am sure that our owners will let other clubs test that out rather than us. Must admit though, am getting pretty bored with the lack of movement in to the club. The sooner Premiership clubs announce their squads for the coming season, the better. Might see 2 or 3 coming in quickly afterwards. Also, not sure, how much influence our new directors are having on the transfer front.
Part III of the UEFA Club Licensing Section (Article 53) states "The UEFA Club Financial Control Body at all times bears in mind the overall objectives of these regulations, in particular to defeat any attempt to circumvent these objectives."
