Just a slight dampener on that theory - the response I've got is -

"Ok they're going to look into it. If Southampton is the only club he's been linked to then it's unlikely they'll offer a market on it. Can I take an email address from you and I'll email you when we get an answer."

No. The reason more teams are not in for him is because he's often not very good. If you're really good at football, no one cares about that stuff.

There are plenty of world-class players that everyone knows party their asses off and/or are huge pains in the ass, yet none of them are being sold to Southampton for 8 million. Suarez is a complete prick, Wayne Rooney definitely drinks and parties and his personal life is a shambles and it impacts his football game. How much are those two going for?

 

Couldn't agree more, I can't help but feel a few people on here are overhyping him.

Every time I've watched him he's played slightly deeper as standard CM rather than a number 10 as well. Surely we have enough cover in this position already?

Admittedly not too many. I'd say 5 or 6.
