Ian Stewart was widely acknowledged to be the sixth member of The Stones. He played keyboards with them from 1963 up until his death in 1985. Their manager felt he didn't quite fit the image the band were wanting to put across. **** sake imagine the indignity too ugly to join a a band with the glimmer twins in it

Today is the birthday of Dr Brian May. This guy is a huge favourite of Dan's and as he is no doubt overcome with emotion I will add this one for him. Did you know that This cerebral rock star has a PHD in astrology from a really big university somewhere. It was during this time that fellow student Russell Grant predicted that Brian would meet the then Farrokh Bulsara at a badger convention. May attended and they became fast friends and the band Queen was formed. May fell out with his fellow astrologer after Grant sneered at May's suggestion of Bulsara's new showbiz moniker , Freddie Gemini. They have never spoken again. May found great success with Queen. He has been credited with a unique guitar sound. His father built his guitar for him out of old locomotive parts using badger's whiskers as strings. During the mid 1980's when the band was at it peak of success tragedy struck. The stars told May that his bandmate Freddie would die in the next few years. The canny astrologer planned for a sustainable future without Freddie. He joined the new BBC soap opera Eastenders and gained great critical approval playing the part of booze addled slapper Angie Watts. It was there that he met his future wife Anita Dobson who played Roly the poodle. After the death of Freddie Mercury Queen have continued with some degree of success now fronted by his wife Anita. As of late May and Dobson have started a fertility farm for badgers. Happy birthday Brian May.
