Got to love the crap that is wikipedia & the people that have a sneaky edit of pages, so according to that Bale has signed today for 25m. ha! On 2 June 2011 Gareth Bale signed 5 and half year deal with Manchester United and signed him for 25 million pound and would take the Number.19 shirt at Old Trafford. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gareth_Bale
No. It was part of the settlement with Spurs just prior to administration to receive a lump sum payment at that time and waive any rights in the original transfer agreement for a percentage of sell on fee. I also believe we missed out on £0.5m when Bale played in the Champions League with Spurs too.
We also lost money on Theo after we came to an agreement with Arsenal when we were broke. To be fair, I may be imagining it but I think we paid upfront for a Bournemouth player when they were struggling a few years back.
Not sure about that. We took Lallana from their youth set up when he was 15/16, so they are due 20% of anything we get if we sell him. Can't recall any other deals involving b'muff. We did pay £250k to Exeter for a nipper, who ended up being released by Saints and last thing I recall he was playing well down the non-league ladder. So you can lose out as well as gain sometimes.
We do owe Bournemouth 20% as was mentioned when there was the possibility that we'd lose him. Must have hurt when he signed a long contract with us. It also means the price we'd want for him is inflated by that amount.
