I am doing some charity fundraising and I'm looking for a cartoon image of Statto (Angus Lochran) to use on a Fantasy Football form and cannot find one on the web.

    Can anyone help?

Ummmmm ........ I do a lot of research for people using google 'IMAGES' and am normally very successful, however, I have to admit that this time I seemed to have drawn a blank, sorry.

How about taking a picture of him and using some sort of fancy camera software to cartoon it?

Before your post, I didn't even know who this character was - likewise I couldn't find any caricature or cartoon newspaper style images of him posted on the web. Somebody out there must have poked fun at this guy in one of the rags?

    its very easy to do:

The workflow can be as long as giant snake by most people who take too long to skin a cat but this crazy yanky bloke does the pro quick fix .. i would then take this into Illustrator , live trace it to a vector, apply a different stroke brush ... job is done and you can scale it to the size of a building if required:

Paste into Photoshop source image Unlock Layer, Duplicate it, Layer mode: Colour dodge and invert before Gaussian Blur, Adjustment layer and desaturate ... then copy the flattened image into Illustrator ... live trace it and clean to suit before changing stoke brush to give cartoon effect

Uber_Hoop - here's what I was sent this evening from my graphics guy.

Too big to upload the whole document, but I'm pleased with the result.

    Thanks superthickerhoopser.

I struggle to do this and tend to use the insert image button.

But how do you do that - and upload large images rather than thumbnails - and how do you get round the file size restrictions?

you just put the url of the pic between "

", there are no file size restrictions for linked pictures.
