He's 80, didn't want the wife spending all his money before he died.

Well if he's been with her more than a year, she's probably spent it all anyway!

Former President Jimmy Carter has come out in support of Edward Snowden. No mention of it in US media. That really takes the piss.

Practically everything Jimmy Carter says gets ignored in the US. It's a shame, because he's been one hell of an ex-president, and was roughly 30 years ahead of the curve on energy efficiency, but most of America has collectively decided that he was some hippie that they mistakenly elected post-Nixon, and thus should be forgotten.

To be honest, I don't think there's anyone who could come out in support of Snowden and be given the time of day by the media. Check out this MSNBC reporter's take on the situation:

Just a teeny bit of media bias over there, perhaps.

Ouch! One of the best things about my gf is that she insists on splitting things financially. I was quite surprised at first but now I'm used to getting money thrust at me when we leave a restaurant or whatever.

Bresnan comes in for Finn. Interesting decision. I think Bresnan might have suited Trent Bridge more than Finn but Lord's is more of a Finn pitch. Having said that, Cook really didn't seem to trust Finn in the second innings at Trent Bridge so it's not too surprising.

The players will be presented to the Queen before play and TMS has all gone a bit weird, with Aggers describing the Royal Standard being raised and Tuffers speculating as to what colour the Queen will be wearing!

Not surprising, Finn was being carted to all corners of the ground by the Aussie tail and we were running out of runs to play with! I agree that Finn should be given another chance though.

Yeah Finn almost had to be dropped. We might have been better off picking Bresnan for Trent Bridge and Finn for this one. No doubt Finn will be back at some point.
