He always looks good against lower oposition, I'm not a fan of him but wouldn't be surprised if he improved. If you can improve his first touch (which is awful) then that would be a start.

It will be very intresting to see how/if he improves. If he thinks he will walk into the team then he will have a problem, midfield is unbelievably tough to get into down here especially with the new signings so he will have his work cut out in training to get a place in the team, time will tell if he has what it takes but I got a feeling we may well have made a cracking signing .

What he gives us are the exact things we have lacked since entering the prem league, which is somebody from midfield having a shot on goal !! not sure if his first touch can be worked on at 21 but maybe Laudrup see s something in him that far out weighs his close control ?

Its certainly an intresting signing and will no doubt keep the friendly banter between the swans and Liverpool going for yet another intresting season ,ok>

the games i have seen shelvey play for liverpool then he more than matched anyone who was playing....This guy is worth just the same as all the other players we have brought in. His first touch has been outstanding and i know there are many liverpool fans are upset that brendan has let such a young talent leave the club..

Half agree dai. Shelvey certainly looks a classy prospect, but not seen bony yet and Amat looks like he could be worth his weight in gold. Personally, I think we paid a fair price for him.

I don't think we should compare him with other players . If he just plays like when Shelvey shows to best advantage, thats good enough for me. I'm sure Laudrup will teach him well , and he will learn some "tricks". As said above in this thread, it's important to get behind the player, even if he fails sometimes. So far he has done extremely well.
