Anything by Yes. Rick Wakeman and his ****in wizards cape playing 10 keyboards at once. Self indulgent pap.
The woman loves her Radio 2. They played Twistin by the Pool by Mark Knopfler there and the stereo was nearly for heading out the window
Dire straits. People who listen to that pile of shiote thinkit makes them more intelligent and they have kids FFS. I bet the parents of Robert thompson and John venables had them blasting out of the stereo for years and that's what triggered their action
The NE of England may not have produced many top bands over the years, but we can be proud that we inflicted Dire Straits on the rest of the world. Why be greedy, its only fair that everyone should suffer.
Boomtown Rats should be erased from history. Anyone caught in possession of one of their 'songs' should be <something nasty>. Yacontcha!
That's a great call - they did an absolutely disgraceful cover version of london calling at some gala afternoon in the Mall to welcome the Olympics finishing in Beijing and being handed over to London. Shooting wouldn't be a tough enough punishment.
I know Ive told the story elsewhere of how I pished on mark knobfeelers guitar... I also once played a gig with "Guitar George who knows all the chords " as sang about by knopfler in The Sultans of Swing .. he was quite creepy in an over-familiar, pleasant, savile-ish kind of way and continually handed out bags of sweeties to those around him ; I like to think, based on this, that he abused knopfler in many heinous ways practically unimaginable to the human mind.
I must admit if i ever met Roddy Frame I would have to ask him what on earth possessed him to duet with Knopfler. It was really quite disturbing - the 7 inch of All i need is everything is brilliant but the 12 inch descends into an orgy of self indulgent over elaborate chord play probably orchestrated by Knopfler and willingly embraced by an eager to please Roddy. Not his finest hour. Still, made up for it by duetting with Mick Jones!
Yes, I do think some overly lush production and general middle-of-the-road mixing take away a lot from " Knife" and I hold Knobfeeler responsible.
This.... One Direction - "One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)" Charity song or not, to destroy TWO iconic songs in ONE go is really going some. Blasphemy. Like a bunch of kids on the karaoke.
