Would Hull sell to us? Doubtful. Would be more worried if we had have signed him - not a fan I'm afraid (though didnt see much of him whilst at Hull).

Basically when we had McShane in the Premier League he was played as a right-back (he's a centre-back) and back then he was full errors, he'd drop a clanger once or twice every game. As a result he got nicknames like 'McShambles' and became a bit of a topic for ridicule. Following that both Pearson and Barmby wanted nothing to do with him but when Bruce came in he said he wanted to give everyone a chance, he's coached the recklessness out of Macca's game and he had a really good season last year.

As for Hobbs, sad to see him go but I think his (lack of) pace would've been exploited in the Premier League.

There'd be no issue at all.

Our owner wanted to make a show of holding on to our players immediately after Pearson departed, but that's distant history now we wouldn't look at a bid from you any differently to a bid from anyone else.

You may not but we do. We refused point blank to do business with you with Schmeichel. You only made life harder for yourself with your ****ty little bids. Had you come in with a serious offer from the start then you would have had a chance maybe

Your mob suggested if we threw in Hobbs, we could have a deal, but you wanted the money we'd already offered + Hobbs and we decided there was better value elsewhere, you certainly didn't 'refuse point blank to do business with us'.

Neither club would have any issue with dealing with each other, just as long as the terms were right for both parties.

As you say. People with proven track records when it comes to information have suggested very different this end. We point blank rejected all your bids and told you were not interested in doing business with you

Your track record, lets just say the less said the better when you have tried to guess about our club

    I'd have had Hobbs back.

He improved no end at Hull, he became much better physically.

Having said that. There is a reason I wasn't too bothered when he left. The guy has the distribution skills of a **** ebayer.

... wow wouldn't have imagined that the prospect of playing at Sincil bank again was that exciting.

You do realise we replaced him with Mills, master of bad distribution.

I was happy he left because i thought he deserved first team football, was never going to get it under Sven

I'm with Barwell on this - Bruce had got rid because he doesn't think Jack is good enough for the Prem - now I know there are some who think we should be recruiting merely to get out of this league but personallly I don't - what's the point in bringing in someone that, potentially, you would be looking to move on in 12 months?

Would rather have Michael Keane back on loan (or permanently if Moyes doesn't fancy him longer term).

Michael Keane is showing the same promise that Hobbs showed at that age, theres no certainty that he will be better than Hobbs in the future.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo ... without going into too much detail Keane is a far better technical footballer e.g he can actually pass a ball. OLM describes Jack earlier (to paraphrase) as a 'bit of a hoofer' - Michael Keane is certainly not that - his first instinct is to bring the ball down and then to pick a pass - he's still learning and got caught out a couple of times trying to do that - but it bodes very well for his future.

You said that and we ended up with Matt Mills.

I rated Hobbs and I think he will be a great signing for Forest. Though I would prefer Wes

Mills is a far superior player to Hobbs.

Just not worth what we paid/were paying him.

I was on about distribution. Jack Hobbs looks like Andrea Pirlo compared to Mills
