A human behaviour expert would say that this is nothing more than a primeval attempt to "mark your territory" in much the same way that Westwood did by pissing over the seats at SMS, I believe that if the shoe was on the other foot, then Pompey fans might not find it that amusing either.
I'm sure you're right................., for a small minority anyway. I'm sure though that the vast majority would see it as a daft prank between rivals. As for the Westwood thing though, I don't know, as I haven't yet come across anyone who finds it funny.
T Shirt prank = funny. Saints fans seem to have forgotton what "humour" is since reaching the almight Premier League.... JPFCW pissing incident = disgracful and disgusting. This incident is harmless fun, rivelry and I would be the first to have a laugh if it was at our expense.
If it had been the other way round my reaction would be exactly the same - a deep burning indifferance.
I think you Pompey fans are missing the funniest part. What idiot would waste their own beloved football shirt and scarf by leaving it at their biggest rivals training ground. Oh the brainless person who posts a Video of themselves doing it all over u tube and probably loses their job along with it. Maybe stupid should replace funny
Sorry Possum, your logic has gone right over my head. It may have been stupid, but it was also very funny. Where on earth has your sense of humour gone ?
I did find it funny Wd but the sense of someone being stupid and losing their job takes away the humour.
Yes, but are we sure that they actually left the shirt there? It might have all been just a joke - stuff that urban legends are made of.
Truth is, if someone hid one of the new Southampton tops somewhere within Pompey's walls, we would have a hard job working out what team it belonged to.
I think any Saints fan working on Falling Down Park might need a swing shovel to bury it in the rubble but then I can't ever say I have seen Saints shirt at a Football league 2/bottom division match in the 48 years I have followed them.
Well bully for you Weren't you just 15 minutes away from being bought out of administration by SISU? Before serendipity happened along in the form of Saint Markus and his multi-million £s? There but for the grace of god......... you could be in a similar position to Coventry. Whereas we, on the other hand, have rescued our club with the hard earned funds of our own supporters, with a team assembled with players who have chosen the club over money - and we are where we want to be.......... with an exciting journey ahead of us. Wherever we go from here, it will be due to our own efforts. I know which club I'd rather be part of.
Ahem - I cant see the point of gaining the higher moral ground on this - when SFC were going tits up there were a couple of serious suitors the first of which was turned down and then the Leibherrs offer was gratefully accepted and 3 years into a 5 year plan it seems to have worked for us. When PFC was in a similar breast position there were several owners mostly unfortunately owned and operated by the "dodgy brothers' but nevertheless their money was at the time gratefully received - but now through hard work and lots of goodwill you have the club in its present position and ownership and lets hope it works out as well for you guys as it has so far with us. In ten years time we can all have a group hug and say "that all worked out for the best then". Now I have to pack my bags as this time next week I will have just landed at Heathrow to spend time indulging in various things such as the first day of the 5th test at the Oval and of course the first game of the season away to WBA before flying back to this antipodean outpost as the high command has only given me 35 days leave of absence - keep the sun shining - happy days !!
3rd time lucky. You've calmed the spelling nazi in me. If I had accidentally bought the new saints shirt I'd probably wall it up somewhere I'll never see again. I reckon they might have plenty of left overs after this season. When's your food court being built?
I don't give two ****s about capitalisation or grammar tbh. Spelling a word with substantially the wrong letters when it's not just a data entry error though... I'd do away with caps completely if I didn't have some pinky finger muscle memory that kicks in at the start of most sentences. p.s. glad to receive corrections when I do it. I'm not infullible.
Blimey this did make me laugh. Now if Markus had came in and rescued Pompey and you were in our shoes now and we were in yours, the fact is 3rd eye and Wd you would both be singing from a different hymn sheet, and you both know it. Now I know which club I'd rather be part of.
