i am confused by the comment about us being fucked by wantaway stars ? Q . Why did they "wantaway " which came first , the wantaway stars , or the lack of success ? A. The lack of success in ANY competition in 8 years came first . You cant blame the players for leaving ,one jot . They play HIS game and HIS tactics .that HE sets out for them every training session .
I presume you are talking about the same players who won **** all for us when they were playing for us.I think they should take some responsibility for us winning **** all. You've been a fan since the 70's so winning **** all for 8 years is nothing new to you.Even losing cup ties to teams from the bottom division is something you've had to endure in the past
Hang on! So we didn't need to sign players over the last 8 years. The players were good enough, but the tactics were wrong. Actually, I find that refreshing, a change of tune from the other camp. At last, a bit of love for Bendtner, Denilson and Squillacci.
Just to clarify the Transfer Window start on June 9th. English clubs can buy and sell players from then. It is the rest of Europe that opens on 1st of July. They can also buy players but they cant join till the 1st of uly. English clubs can get anyone in post the 9th of June.
Actually, from the premier league handbook Section V, page 181 - V.2 The first Transfer Window in any year shall commence at midnight on the last day of the Season and shall end on 31st August next if a Working Day or, if not, on the first Working Day thereafter, at a time to be determined by the Board. Not sure how they determine the last day of the season, but I suppose it might be June 9th. In fairness to everyone it has changed from July 1st in the last 5 years, not sure exactly when, and some sites still state it as July 1st.
Lets wait and see what happens in the transfer window and the coming season before talking about contracts. The problem is if Wenger is unable to get any top line players in then he and the hardcore Wenger supporters will give him another pass. I want to see him get those top players in and see what he can do. No bull, no excuses, we have the money, just use it and show us what you can do with it. If anyone deserves a nice big budget then that is Wenger. Has he still got the magic? We will soon find out.
Apologies if my point wasn't clear. English Clubs can bring in players from 9th June on-wards irregardless of deadlines at the players club. The deadlines only apply to the buying club not the selling club. A player can technically be sold at any point whether in a transfer window or not. The restriction is when that player can join his new club. In England that is from the 9th of June and in most European Nations it is 1st of July. @Toledo it has been around for a while (first noticed it in FM) but if you look when UTD bought Jones, De Gea and Young in one season all 3 joined before 1st of July. Jones around the 14-15th i believe.
You also have to take into account players who are playing internationals or are on holiday and would be unable to be part of negotiations between clubs
Yeah we still bring in some great players but I would say the 'success rate' has gone down a little. It seems every year we bring in a Chamakh or Gervinho - when we really all want a Rooney or Higuain.
this is very valid point which makes it even more hilarious when people cream themselves over the idea of Fabregas coming back . I say to myself , why the **** do we want him back .? We did nothing WITH him ,or Van Judas , and Nasri , and the likes. what makes people think his coming back will make the slightest difference to our fortunes. ? Wishfull thinking abounds. Im am hoping that one day a total change of direction and motivation to win will come our way . That WONT happen while Arsene refuses to step aside. But i am a patient man .
nuff said , they are good ,( not giroud ) but they are not gonna set the world on fire are they . I would swap all 5 of them for a Lewandowski or a Ronaldo THAT is real quality .
So do you blame the players for leaving because of our lack of success or do you blame them for our lack of success ?
Team>Individual Player. I'd rather have a team of good players vs a team of crap players and 1 WC player (Spurs) The ideal situation would be a combo of both but your assertion that we don't bring in quality every summer is wrong.
