I really do hope Young and Downing leave. Might sound bitter but I just don't want to see greedy pillocks like B£nt succeed. With the manager though I reckon they could bring in a better manager than Houllier. He never really convinced many people and they (like us) were lucky to finish in the top 10.

Downing and Young were the players he mentioned after signing "When I go there and saw the quality players like Downing and Ashley Young I couldn't believe how lucky I was" well how lucky are you now - hope they all leave and poor Darren is sat with his second rate managerless team fighting to be the second club in xx years to stay up after being bottom at Christmas!! gr££dy Ba$tard

If Houllier's gone, those two might easily change their minds. It depends on who they bring in as replacement manager, I suppose.

Na they have both categorically stated they wanna play Champions League.

Not only are Villa not init, they have no prospect of getting there anytime soon.

Can see Young staying because I dont think he is top 4 material but Downing I can see heading to Liverpool/Arsenal

Young is far superior to Valencia IMO, i can see him going United.

I personally think Young is a cracking player.

Sorry but are you seriously suggesting Downing is a better player than Young? Ashley Young will definitely be leaving Villa and will almost certainly join United although if that falls through Liverpool will take him. Downing has an outside chance of getting a move to Man City or more likely Liverpool, however Liverpool are not a top 4 team and he is unlikely to get Champions League football there.

Totally disagree, Liverpool will be a top 4 team next season, and downing could well help them do it.

I think they are both cracking players, and both absolutely up to top 4 standard.

Agreed. I think next season could see Arsenal slip out.

City and Chelsea won't because they'll throw money at their problems, mightn't win the league but it will get them champions league football.

United are a distinctly average side, considering they're champions, but they know how to win.

Arsenal are an overrated side who play beautiful football but choke.

I disagree about Liverpool - I think Kenny has got a lot of hype but he took over a club fighting the bottom 6 and had no pressure on him and got lucky. I personally don't think they're as good as people are making out. Same top 4 again next season I think and I think Liverpool will be hard pushed to beat Spurs to 5th

As for Downing and Young - Young I think has ability but is a nightmare on the field with his constant diving and complaining to referees.
Downing - Have rated him since he played for us and would have him here in a second but I think bigger fish may want him (if not then stick a bid in Brucie and stick one right up Darr£n B£ent!!!

Don't fall for his spiel. Who was this great manager in Turkey? Who was in Turkey to provide him with such great service?
He has got his money now, I doubt he would even care if the whole club fell around him.
