And nobody is questioning what the Allams have done or what we have achieved however the facts are that we do have a brand which is the name we are globally known as. Though thick and thin the "brand" has continued. People use the word change to easily and significant change creates significant risk...what is Newcastles ground now called. If it aint broke........ As we know Mr Allam...as great as he is has an ego, yes he owns the club - currently, but ultimately he is only the seatholder for a period...the club will far outlast him and it will be as Hull City AFC
People saying it'll strengthen the brand in the Far East, I'd love to know their rationale for this. Surely, if anything, ALL branding should be the same name as the 'successful' club name they see on TV every week. That would strengthen it. Indeed if our business name was different it would make sense to rename it Hull City AFC.
Exactly, many people don't see his argument as credible because 99% of people don't have any business sense nor do they understand anything on that matter and day to day running of a company! Their ignorance gives them no right to judge someone's credibility on a matter or subject that does not concern them. All that concerns the fans is what happens on the pitch, financial status, players/management, stadium etc and of course the name of the TEAM, not the name of the BUSINESS/COMPANY. I shall say no more on the matter.
You underestimate peoples knowledge and experience and totally misunderstand what a football club is.
Congratulations, you are the only poster on this site has driven me to search out the 'ignore' facility
How do I? I'm in a position that allows me to look at it from both sides of the fence. From a business perspective there is clearly a valid reason and motive. From a supporters way of looking at it I hope their decision is beneficial to the club in some way and that they won't be a massive re-branding/name change coming ahead and I trust the words of Nick Thompson as he has announced it publicly. Do you really think a person would come and do this and try to cement trust and understanding between the supporters then 3-4 months or 12 months down the line completely re-brand the club and name? Look in to it all as far as you want, your wasting your time. Accept his announcement and move on... Support the club in what's going to be a very tough season.
Id suggest your been very ignorent in not appreciating why fans of the club have some concerns. You may have a valid point with the reasoning of the name change but its not a fact and your great business sense doesnt seem to have left space for a well balanced of view.
And now you are just trying to patronise. You have no idea who is on here and believe me there are some people with significant business experience in major corporations....and are not just a weather man. You use the word credibility.....you are not Charlie are you???
^↑^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Shouldn't you be Hultigers? There a people on these boards that have quite a bit more business knowledge than you seem to posses.
I reckon THEY know perfectly well the distinction between the playing side and the busines side. What YOU miss is that they both form part of the same club.
I'm not Philhul, just trying to work out peoples logics behind the whole thing. As I said, I can see it from both sides of the fence and IF I seriously thought anything dodgy and untruthful was going on I would be one of the first to get stuck in. I'm not just a weather man, I run the business, develop it, acquire sponsors and much more. We have had large sponsors such as Halfords last winter advertising their universal multi-grip's. I deal with a lot of corporate businesses. I was just trying to install a more sensible/realistic view on the scenario instead of all of the head hunting that's been going on the previous threads.
