Anyone have anything, even live txt updates would do. All I;ve got so far is some random fella on USA goals who seems to have info from somewhere. He reckons we are now 2-0 up, anyone able to confirm this?

    from www.nufc.co.uk

Newcastle United begin their pre-season campaign on Tuesday night away at Motherwell (7pm kick-off).

And manager Alan Pardew has named a strong starting line-up to take on last season's Scottish Premier League runners-up, which includes four full internationals - Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Moussa Sissoko, Vurnon Anita and Haris Vuckic.
There is also a sprinkling of youth within the matchday squad, as Pardew and his coaching staff look to give players valuable game time in their first friendly fixture of the summer.
The Magpies will line-up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with goalkeeper Rob Elliot protected by a back four of James Tavernier, Mike Williamson, captain-for-the-night Yanga-Mbiwa and Paul Dummett.
Sissoko and Anita will anchor United's midfield, allowing a creative trio of Gabriel Obertan, Sammy Ameobi and Vuckic to feed lone striker Yoan Gouffran.
On the substitutes' bench, Pardew has a further nine players to select from, ranging from the experience of Steven Taylor and Sylvain Marveaux, to the youth of Remie Streete and Adam Campbell.

Motherwell (4-4-2): Lee Hollis; Adam Cummins, Simon Ramsden, Shaun Hutchinson, Stevie Hammell; Stuart Carswell, Paul Lawson, Keith Lasley, Iain Vigurs; Bob McHugh, Trialist
Substitutes: Gunnar Nielsen, Euan Murray, Fraser Kerr, Zaine Francis-Angol, Lee Erwin, James McFadden, Craig Moore

Newcastle United (4-2-3-1): Rob Elliot; James Tavernier, Mike Williamson, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa (c), Paul Dummett; Vurnon Anita, Moussa Sissoko; Gabriel Obertan, Haris Vuckic, Sammy Ameobi; Yoan Gouffran
Substitutes: Jak Alnwick, Shane Ferguson, Remie Streete Steven Taylor, Mehdi Abeid, Michael Richardson, Romain Amalfitano, Sylvain Marveaux, Adam Campbell

    Referee: Willie Collum

    HT report from NUFC.cock

By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Managing Editor
    At Fir Park

    Motherwell 1 (Vigurs 26)

    Newcastle United 3 (Vuckic 8, Gouffran 15, Sissoko 39)

Newcastle United are 3-1 up at half-time of their first pre-season friendly of the summer, away at Motherwell.
Goals from Haris Vuckic, Yoan Gouffran and Moussa Sissoko have given the visitors a deserved lead north of the border, while Iain Vigurs provided a brief response for the Scottish Premier League side.
United made a bright, positive start and were rewarded for their attacking intent with just eight minutes on the clock.
Sissoko robbed the Motherwell midfield in the middle of the park and took a couple of strides forward before releasing Gouffran.
The French front man raced on to the through ball, forcing Motherwell goalkeeper Lee Hollis into a fine stop to keep out his low effort.
However, the stopper was unable to keep out Vuckic's follow-up, as he tapped home into the unguarded net from the edge of the area.
Paul Dummett threatened to double the advantage soon after but could only drive over the top from distance, having been afforded time and space to get forward from his left-back berth.
And it wasn't long before United had a two-goal cushion as Vuckic turned from goalscorer to provider.
A superb James Tavernier pass dissected the hosts' midfield, allowing Vuckic to drive towards the 18-yard box.
The Slovenian seemed set to shoot but at the last second cleverly knocked the ball into the path of Gouffran, who applied a confident finish.
It was seemingly one-way traffic when Ameobi cracked the foot of the post with a drive but Motherwell forced their way back into the contest midway through the half.
First, the home side's trialist striker - believed to be Estonian international Henri Anier - out-muscled Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, only to be denied by Rob Elliot from a tight angle.
But the keeper had no chance seconds later when winger Iain Vigurs fired a fierce, 20-yard, left-footed volley into his bottom corner.
Six minutes before half-time, the Magpies restored their two-goal advantage.
When Sissoko received the ball on the edge of the area surrounded by a clutch of Motherwell defenders, there appeared little on.
However, the midfielder had other ideas, dinking the ball over a challenge before striking a powerful first-time effort goalwards, which Hollis got a hand to but saw it squirm under his body and trickle agonisingly over the line.

Motherwell just scored a pelanty, 2-3. Bugger, well I can see another relegation haunted season for the toon, this is clearly all Pardews fault.

Considering the team we put out, it is a pretty good outcome! Did any of the younger reserves stand out? (Like Tavs and Dumett?)

Don't know, didn't see any of the matchplay, I was getting all of my updates from Facebook. From what I've heard, Vuckic ran the show in the first half with a goal and assist and also hitting the woodwork, and Dummett looked decent throughout, I think he got an assist for the forth goal.
