Just got back. Would have been back 15 minutes ago, but was held up in Swindons club car park as they have a policy of holding the cars in until everyone has vacated the stadium. This was a typical pre-season friendly, the occasional spurt of energy before easing back into a gentle stroll on a summer evening tempo. From AVB's point of view, it would have served its purpose of giving 22 players at least 45 minutes football against a useful looking Swindon side. Loris looked uncomfortable with the ball at his feet on a couple of occasions, Dawson had his usual lapses in concentration and got away with them. Bale scored a well struck goal but was happy to drift in and out of the game, Ceballos and Bentaleb both showed decent touches on occasions and Andros Townsend looked lively with his trademark running at defenders. Huddlestone was showing some sublime touches and looks very sharp and fit. Swindon did enough to deserve a draw. They had more opportunities, Brad tipped one over at full stretch and they hit the woodwork twice, including one from Alex Pritchard. I think he enjoyed the "you're Spurs and you know you are" chant when he hit the bar. A reasonable work out for the first game with the same players pretty much doing the same things as they were last season.
