Just back from a very hot Malham after the annual meet of the UK branch of the Mountain Club of Kenya. A couple of excellent walks and catching up with old mates.

Surprisingly little beer consumed, must be the heat, as an exile from England one of the benefits of going home is to get some good beer in a proper pub.

Great Whernside climbed, so that the 4 biggies in the dales done now - Ingleborough, Pen y ghent & Whernside. Peregrines in the cove again, the cove itself spectacular in the sun.

    Back to the grind.....

Lovely place...saw the peregrines earlier this year via RSPB binoculars when the chicks were small.

Not as much rain today. I am still seeing what I can do for breakfasts here.

I have to agree with ak that the current womens football is pretty dire. I am afraid it has a very long way to go before it becomes a watchable sport.

Thanks Ak for the caramel latte, the shame about the women's game is it has gone backwards over the last couple of years, maybe Hope Powell has passed her sell-by date!

    Morning all...lovely day again

Not sure about the away shirt colour...puts me in mind of bishops!

I "saw" most of the England/Russia women's game. It wasn't compelling enough to stop me reading a book at the same time.

Yup the 5 mins I saw before catching up on the first test was pretty dire. It was much better at the Olympics last year, well what I saw was.

Thanks for the coffee ak. However, I am afraid that in the current heatwave weather in England, I have had to let it cool, than top it with ice cream before I can "drink" it......

Thanks for brew AK. I have had to let mine cool down though, as when I first tried to drink , I dribbled it all down me, due to the fact that I had been to the dentist again :(.

It is testament to your brew making skills and presentation, that even though my mouth was numb, I still attempted to drink it, after being so tempted by it <ok>

Right orf for a spot of culture tonight. Going to listen to a Londres orchestra who are doing a concert in town. Went two years ago when they were last here and it was very good. Interval will of course have some something to nibble and and chilled wine I expect. The conductor wisely has a place out here that gets him out of London in the summer and I have the good fortune to have met him on several occasions now. Just hoping that the church building will not have turned the heating on. ;)
