Applicable to us yes, but in the grand scheme of things, your prices are still a rip off, and a very good example of modern football taking the game away from the fans.
Pompey won't go up; they need to build a whole new team and there's a lot of competition up the top. Top half, I reckon.
Stealing charity money , ripping off the taxpayer, yet still dishing out lectures ...... Unbelievable.
Ticket prices are high in the PL, but we are also spending money on infrastructure and players...as Godders said, you get what you pay for. I am not one to keep bringing up Pompey's financial past...but really!!
Ok Guys and gals we really do not want to go down that road again do we..........You did this we did that scenario....lets have a break from the squabbling......... Lets put that behind us....as Fran says ticket prices are higher in the premier league as we have to spend money to stay there!
That's that then! Have to say though that 10,000 season tickets is a remarkable display of faith. Respect for that.
If some skates hadn't come on our board and slagged our club off, then none of this would have happened beddy. The jokers should stick to the division 4 boards and leave premiership ones to premiership clubs.
I ain't slagged your club of one bit LD. All I said in my first post on here is that we have sold 10k season tickets. Your the one who slagged our club, clearly shown in your last post. If the news hasn't reached you, our fans actually paid the charities off with interest. But I don't expect you to know that because it doesn't fit your highly blinkered view of us. As for sticking to our respected boards. 1) That's very rich coming from you. And 2) This is an open forum. Anyone from any club can comment on any board. If you don't like the fact. Leave. But as said before, this particular discussion is done. Onto the actual topic, all clubs have a small group of arrogant, holier than thou fans. Tiss natural. We have some even now that expect promotion with the maximum points. Overall though most fans from all clubs are level headed.
I have a feeling that our David Connolly will do it single handed for them. He is far too good for league 2 as we all know.
10,000+ Pompey season tickets have not been sold. The greater majority of them are to be paid for by instalments and we all know you need to be very carefully when giving any sort of financial credit to a Pompey resident. FFS even Charles Dickens knew that before we Saints fans realised what a dodgy bunch of non payers they were. I hope this new Community Club Chairman has engaged some very good Bailiffs.
I wish David all the best (even if that means best wishes to Pompey). He's a good player cursed by injury.
I'm sure it does haunt him, I'm amazed he gets to sleep at night. What a harrowing experience for all involved
To answer St.G's question in close season 2014-15 [just in case someone revives it in a couple of years], I wish Saints supporters were a little more expectant. I find the average Saints supporter to be moderately happy to be mid-table fodder. When you ask them, the best they can come up with is 6th-7th [yeah, in your dreams] 8th-9th or whatever. Ask them to really stick their necks out and there's no belief, no ambition to expect better. The club know this now and plan toward this end. Improvements are financially based, not aimed at silverware. So providing the club make mid-table the vast majority of Saints fans will be delighted. Personally, I think that's mediocre. I can see mediocre anywhere I look, in any pastime. I want to see great. I want to see superb. I don't want to limit the club. We've done better in the past. Let's be arrogant. Let's be expectant. Otherwise why should they bother to try if we're satisfied with alsoran..? Let's be bold and arrogant. Let's expect better. There you go. We'll see what that looks like in a season or two.
