I actually like it. I know some people will say it HAS to be either black, white, blue or a 'normal' red... but I think it looks good The problem the club have is that it has to be marketable as well as looking good on the pitch. When we have such a garish home kit, any marketing team will prefer a more toned down away kit. Something that you can see people walking around the high street in as not everyone will want to wear such a bright shirt all the time. We've had a couple of different shades of blue... so why not red!
Another on TV; The Football League ‏@football_league 1m TV SELECTION: Watford v Nottingham Forest has been selected for live coverage by @SkySports on Sun 25 Aug (1:15pm KO) #TVgame Might be able to make this now as away that weekend so might be able to swing by Watford on the way back!
What do those symbols in the sponsors logo mean on the away shirt? And is purple a lucky colour? A new food sensation is sweeping America--it is called the "Cronut" and is shortly to be launched in the UK. They will be sponsoring the Championship play-offs as a way of building brand recognition. Look it up if you don't believe me.
I'm liking the new away top. In fact i would be more likely to wear the away top than the home one. I think the lack of red on the home kit lets it down.
I still do not understand why people want red on the shirt. Before Graham Taylor had red added to the shirt again 1976 Watford had red only before 1909.
Possibly because Hornets have 'red' bodies and legs and wasps have predominantly black bodies. Not to be confused with the abdomen which is generally yellow and black for both orders.
Please can someone clarify who decided we should have red in our kit if we had it for the 76-77 season as GT wasn't appointed until after that season.
Red came in 1976, along with going from gold to yellow... same year as Elton coming in - Taylor was the following year Suggestions seem to be that red was introduced simply from the shirt manufacturer - Umbro. I believe it was red shorts that were introduced by Taylor.
Found this on the other WFC forum... http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/watford/next-permanent-manager Must be an old list from last summer.
The club have confirmed that the leaked image is indeed our away kit for the season. http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/130716-away-strip-201314-919524.aspx
New back room staff. http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/altre-notizie/watford-porcu-sara-il-nuovo-vice-di-zola-466396?
Im sorry to see Giancarlo Corridini leave. He was great to chat to and was really funny. He used to say hi and call me the spy whenever he saw me at London Colney. But Alec Chamberlain said he had family problems towards the end of the season so he went back to Italy.
I think these are current odds. Elsewhere there are odds on QPR getting promotion. What is interesting is the odds on us NOT getting promotion are 1:8. They seem pretty certain that we won't go up.
I'm confused now (nothing new there, then). The list I saw gave the odds on GZ being manager at the end of the season. He wasn't on the list of potential future managers.
The club will be asking season ticket holders who don't get to games to give up their ticket for a game so it can be passed on to local communities etc. http://www.watfordfc.com/news/artic...to-no-shows-925423.aspx?pd=635096794930000000 Good idea if it helps fill the ground and improves the atmosphere.
Well it worked towards the end of last season, and I think its a great idea. We need all the help we can get!
