...apart from the obvious 'win every game' ...what would it be?

talking about this in the pub last night and got some good answers, ranging from quality of pies to colour of kit socks. (he was a Cardiff fan)

    Hard one this!

I would ensure that all stadiums give 30 % of capacity for standing only, that would bring back the atmosphere at modern grounds, it's been a big hit in Germany so why not here? The Taylor report has been proven to be inaccurate in it's findings and it could save a club like ours a fortune in stadium expansions.

It would then maybe lead to more affordable season tickets so a win win for everybody I think ;)

Same thoughts, Norway. Controlled standing areas would be great for a lot of reasons.

I don't agree with the standing in the stadium. But the thing I would change is the costs involved in watching a match, tickets are to expensive, and the merchandise is extortionate.

As for what could be done at federation level. Any TV rights sold should automatically divert 10% of the figure to go into grass roots football, 15% of it should go into the lower 3 leagues.

There should be a cap on players wages worldwide of £2.5m a year. All agents are paid by the players, there is no % of a transfer fee to them unless the player pays it.

The transfer windows should be abolished, transfer fees above £10m abolished, contracts should be worth the paper it's written on, compensation levels should reflect on not only on how much the player earns, but on how much it costs to replace him.

Besides that I wouldn't change anything apart from rissoles being sold in the liberty ;)

Probably going to get pelters here, but 2 things, every one who attends must have a course or something to stop them from making or shouting the most stupid ****ing things out, Learn the ****ing rules. No that wasnt offside. The second going to get slammed, but would rid the stadium off all the women who scream out in their high pitched squeal. they always and i mean always sit behind me when i go away.

Some good points in here raised already. Standing and Women !
Well in my experiences these two factors go hand in hand because its the women that complain if anyone stands up. Not just open play I've seen women especially away from home complain if someone stands up when we score.
The game at Norwich last season was one in question, my day was spoiled by a moaning mingebag sat behind me who complained all fkn game and also didn't know the offside rule. When Michu scored and came over to our fans to celebrate she was complaining to the stewards. People like this regardless of gender should be evicted and never allowed into any ground ever again.

I may well be in the minority here but I believe players have the right to demand the wages they do. Essentially if a club is bringing in billions because of what the players do on the pitch, then they, being the product of the company, are entiltled to a particular share of what is made, dependant on their influence.
Dont get me wrong, 500k a week etc is extortionate. But so long as a club are paying wages in relation to what they are make because of that player, then he is entitled to be payed more.

Without Michu last season we may well have finished just above the relegation zones in say 16th. Finishing 9th we made something like 4.5m more. He was the main cause of that extra revenue and with shirt sales etc and everything that comes with it, he has probably been the root cause of about 7m revenue. Surely he would be entitled to be payed more than less influential players?
Thats just a small example of ourselves but imagine that on a world scale with the likes of messi, RVP, Ronaldo etc.

Funny you should mention women at football.

My dad was at the spurs game at home last season he had a ticket for the south stand, he doesn't get to many games but has watched the swans all his life ever since a little boy,he is a pensioner now. Garett bale scored the goal of the season and my dad clapped to acknowledge the world class skill,Not enthusiastically but more in awe of witnessing true world class, now i think most football fans can salute a piece of world class skill By any player of any team but some fat old bird sitting behind him gave him a load of abuse! To which my dad laughed, which was met with a bit more abuse !...<laugh>

I'm not putting all women in this bracket because we have some awesome female jacks, but this was your typical no clue football mum woman brainwashed by the plastic bad sportsmanship we see in modern football and she couldn't understand the fundamentals of sportsmanship at all, especially with sprogs in tow in the family stand! A fine example of a numpty fan .

Couldn't agree more. I remember that goal, I turned to my mate and said "have I just seen what I think I've seen?" Just couldn't believe it, a world class goal that deserved applauding. My mate just said "fckn hell how good was that ?"

I disagree, any business that pays more than 50%-60% of its income on staff wages is unsustainable in the long term. They have player wage caps in sports in the states, and it should happen in football as well. I am not saying about sponsorship deal deals, or anything the player can generate for having his mug on a tv advert, that is up to them. What I am saying is that player wages should reflect the times, £50k a week is more than enough for anyone.

This is a difficult one, I dont blame players for asking for the money, Because clubs will pay it. On the other hand I believe a wage cap would make football more entertaining in that most top flight clubs could afford,(in todays footballing climate) to pay a wage of 50 grand. That way players would move clubs for footballing reasons instead of money.

And that's why the big clubs will never go for a wage cap. As long as Man utd and the other big clubs can use the financial muscle they will continue to win and tap into the global market, it keeps feeding itself .

Man utd are still mortgaged up to the neck,so a few bad seasons and a couple of wrong business ventures by the glaziers will put them right on the danger list.

Football is quite sickening at times I have to say, the money has destroyed the fabric of the British game IMO.

Idont like to see unsporting comments when our team loses. we hear all the excuses under the sun why our team has lost and usually its a players fault or the managers fault but sometimes its just that the team we lost too played a bit better than us...even if we looked the better side and lost we should congratulate the other team for keeping us from scoring and nicking a goal themselves...I would like to see fans accept we wont win all the time and say well played to the opposition instead of finding every possible excuse to justify why we lost....be the better man and take it on the chin...
