Well, I am not sure that we have even bid for Suarez. For all we know, this is Liverpool circulating rumours because they want to get rid of him. I just don't know what to believe. It is still very early in the transfer window. There is a lot of talk, but I don't know how much real action there has been.
Can we lay off the Andy Carroll stuff until I have concluded my little bit of business with him please Yacontcha!
It's been reported on SSN that you had bid 30m, we haven't said anything about it. We don't want rid, Rodgers has come out and said we're very much hopeful of keeping him, this is all Suarez's doing as he's the one who has said he wants out of England because of the media (which is now coming across as bullshit)
...and this may well be true too. Right now it seems that the players are the ones engineering the moves and clubs are not in control, so it would make sense.
I think Wenger would have said that we hadn't made a bid when asked about it at a press conference in Indonesia the other day if it were the case, instead he said something along the lines of 'I can't speak about that yet', which suggests to me that he is very much in with a bid for him. Wenger usually just dismisses rumours out of hand if he's not interested in a player.
Does suarez have a release clause of 40 million, as some papers are suggesting he has where others are saying 40 million is what liverpool will take for him?
I don't know, that is one possibility, but there must be other possibilities. There is so little information about, we are looking at every twitch people make for a sign. I think the press and the fans are reading too much into every little thing.
**** off There's a rumour going around that RM are set to offer us Higuain and cash for Suarez, they're supposedly going to offer it in the next few days. I'd love Higuain here but it won't happen, he wants CL footy and unfortunately we can't offer him that, yet. Although if he was open to it and they offered us a decent lump of cash too I'd be more than happy to do a deal with them, however I think it's bs.
So our 'legacy of over-hyped and under-performing strikers" is limited to Adebayor who we paid peanuts for and Bentley who isn't a striker. They do have something in common though................
Darren Bent was another over hyped and under performing striker, one which you paid top dollar for too. More recently I'd add Clint Dempsey to your list, although not as expensive. And yes Adebayor and Bentley do have something in common, both Arsenal rejects whose careers have gone down the pan whilst at Spurs
Why haven't we offloaded Bendtner to Spurs yet? They've taken all our rejects so far, another one wouldn't make a difference.
