    People suggesting the is crazy notion? Not really. Jose not keen on him and may prefer Benteke. Swap plus cash would make sense to me. Hope not though as that would drastically improve Villa.

    At very least if Chelsea approached Villa for Benteke you'd expect Villa to at least suggest it during negotiations.

    Good point. I'd suggest Chelsea are keener on Benteke than they are their own man.

    Kouyate would be a great signing, 6,4" quick big & strong and only early 20's.

    Least we seem to be keeping an eye out in that CB area. Definitely need another start there to go with Lovren.

    So, 8.5m on Lovren, 12.5m on Wanyma and potentially 8m on Ever, that's 29m so far, which is more than last summer. What do we think we have left, another 11m or 21m? Is the budget 40m or 50m?

    I am beginning to think there will be an expensive striker and then anything else will be very low cost/bargain as cover.

    I think Kouyate's height and strength is something we lack in defence. Think he could be the missing part of the puzzle to make us solid.

    Was reported in some papers as 30m, but i don't believe that. No quotes from Cortese or Poch so I recon that figure was plucked out of the air.

    He ticks all the boxes alright, unfortunately I've not actually seen any recent interest from Saints. Maybe I'll get on the blower to Cortese and get him on it :)
