Career[edit] Born in Klerksdorp, Claasen played youth football with Leicester City Klerksdorp and Vasco Da Gama.[1] He has played professionally in South Africa, the Netherlands and Belgium for Ajax Cape Town, Ajax and Lierse.[2][3][4] Classen went on trial with English Premier League club Everton in April 2013.[5] He was released by Lierse in April 2013.[6] Claasen made his international debut for South Africa in 2010.[3]

The lad next to me at Ferriby was SO sure it was Odemwingie he was showing us all. There were a lot of funny chants coming, but unfortunately none of them came off as I thought it was a photoshop! Would like to see how Mr Claasen does in Portugal. If he can do well against Wednesday and Braga he has a chance of signing for us. On a free too, not bad.
