    Why the New York accent?

I would guess Fabregas also has a right to a say in his future so while Arsenal could get offered first refusal he might just say he doesn't want to return.

Interesting to see how this one turns out. My money will be on him staying put.

I always thought he was quite overrated too, not **** by any means but to Gooners he was like a God.

Yeah, that's what I mean really. He is never as good as they would like to make out. I won't get excited by this at all, even if he does sign.
Decent cm yes and will improve the squad but not up there with the very best.

Played 48 games for Barcelona last season, 32 league starts and he measures up to xavi and iniesta more than anyone. Played more games than Xavi as well in La Liga.

yet Barcelona dont actually rate him that high. Some bitterness towards him it seems.

I don't know, he single handedly carried Arsenal for a few years, he's a much better player than Thiago at the moment in my opinion. Would be a great signing if we could actually pull this off.

Think he would have an impact similar to van Persie, maybe bigger.

We didnt really need a striker, we do need a midfielder. We've lost quite a few in recent years for various reasons and though Carrick has done a great job its time we reward him with a CM partner who wont be injured for 5 months a season or full of pies.

He didn't single handedly do anything, he was part of a team.
Even then, I've accepted he's a decent player but what I said is he's not up there with the very best.

    And he isn't.

If you don't rate him that's fine. All about opinions. Mine would be that if you don't rate him you're going to be severely disappointed with whover we sign in midfield because he's the best that is potentially available.

Cesc and Carrick with one other is a quality midfield. Certainly the best partnership we've had since Scholes was a potent threat.

    I do rate him.

I rate him at a little bit below the very best, as I've now repeated about three times.

The thought of another ex arsenal player leaves me a little flat, that's all.
Out of the newspapers at the weekend were stories that we had limitless funds etc. and so while Fabregas is indeed a worthy addition to the squad I'd also like Bale to go with him. Or to see if Schweinsteiger is part of Guardiola's plans.

For me, Cesc Fabregas does not ring marquee signing and IF he is available then you have to ask why he's available.

Bale's significantly different to Fabregas and Schweinsteiger is not leaving Bayern.

If you go for Bale you buy him on the last day of the window and that's not giving Moyes a fair crack of the whip when his start is so important to him and the club.

I'd like Bale in the squad as well but that doesn't mean we can't move for Cesc first. For all we know we may have bid for Bale but been rebuffed.

Oh good, thanks for putting me right. I had no idea Bale and Fabregas were different players.

Yeah, you are welcome. It was clear from your post that you were a little confused because we need a centre midfielder but you're suggesting buying Bale, who is everything but a central midfielder. That's a very unusual transfer strategy.

I'm talking to two complete brains here obviously. I don't understand why you have to swear at me and insult me. Strange behaviour from two adults.

The swear filter is on but it's still clear what is being said and I don't think you've any reason to say that. Very juvenile. Or you are rough. Either way I don't appreciate it.
