I thought he looked absolutely hopeless against Tony Thompson in the re-match.

The first fight, you could say "lucky punch" for 'Tiger' Thompson, but not on this showing.

Price had everything taken away from him by a 4th Round body-shot. He was done for right there.
He sloped into the 5th and got badly exposed.

It was quite hard to watch actually.

It looks like he's hit his ceiling with somebody like Thompson.
That said, Tony has been beaten only twice in 13 years... both defeats against Wladimir Klitschko in World Title fights.

David Price looked clueless and out-of-his-depth, which is never good.

What domestic fight could he have now? Chisora?

On the last display, I couldn't see him winning against a fit Del-Boy.

Where does David Price go from here? Keep Lennox Lewis around? Go back to basics... Get Mike Tyson involved! Price needs to get aggressive but get his jab working first... At 6' 9", he's really got to be using that weapon.

I thought he was the real deal. He looked like he had the lot.

Thompson knew what he was doing. Way too wily for him. Kevin Johnson was in the worst title fight I ever saw. He tried for a round and a half but he knew it was beyond him so went into survival mode. He leant back on the ropes whilst Klitchko pounded his guard. Vitali knew what to do. Backed off and took the easy points win. Price just kept blasting away against Thompson till he wrecked himself and then Thompson took it all away with the body shot.

I think you can learn those things. David Haye did after gassing in a fight he was leading against Carl Thompson. It just looks a lot worse when you make a different mistake against the same guy.

I think he starts on the road back against Zack Page. a durable guy with a good bit of know how. It will have to be low key and it will teach him a lot. It was the fight that he should have had before Thompson. It was the fight we thought McDermott would give him.

There is no doubting that Price has the physical attributes to be a World Champion, his power is awesome but he lacks the intelligence to beat someone like Tony Thompson?

It's a wake-up call that he badly needed.

He's just turned 30 years-old, so he's no baby now.

Wladimir Klitschko would make mince-meat of Price, so it's probably a good thing he's realised his level.

Personally, I don't think WK gets anywhere near enough credit for how good he actually is.
He's the undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World and has been for many years... I don't think there is anyone who can beat him just now, even at 37/38 years-young!

I always thought Price should have had a warm up fight before this return with Thompson, however now, i dont think it would have made any difference. His weak points have been exposed and they are massive weak points. Stamina, body shots and head shots. I can not see any way on to the world stage for him and suspect that, at best, European level should be his aim. Pity for him because he does appear to be a decent sort.

    Price is not a fighter.

He is a gentle giant, doesnt have the agression to make the most of his very decent tools. (Audley Harrison all over again in my opinion.)

As soon as he gets punched he wants none of it. The best fighter are the opposite.

Joe Calzaghe vs Byron Mitchell is the perfect example. Calzaghe gets badly hurt, 20 seconds later Mitchell is getting knocked through the ropes.

    Yeah, fair point.

    Naz Vs Kevin Kelley
    Tyson Fury Vs Everyone
    Ben Vs McClellan.

    Too right.

I think David Price has to do some mental work, literally, to stand any chance of a come back.

He seemed to dislike Tyson Fury and showed signs of having a 'nasty' side to him when there was talk of them fighting each other.

I honestly don't think he has a chance of fighting Fury now, unless Haye blasts Fury out early doors...
