He came at a young age of 19/20 and the plan for Nani was always a long term and it was not like he never contributed. He did assist quite a bit and did score some great goals. However, his potential is being fulfilled and there still is a lot to improve on for him but assisting at the levels he is, is very good.
Nani still is developing. However while he was bought as a future player in 2007, you can detect the relief and also frustration in Phelan's statement about how Nani finally started to play and pay back some of the huge transfer fee spent on him. He has a long way to go to become the player many hope he may be.
Long way to go, maybe but the great Figo took until he was 28 to show his real potential. Every season Nani is improving and has been crucial to our EPL win more so than most of our squad.
