Manure are a massive club, that won't change. But I think the Fergie factor cannot be underestimated. It's like Wenger at Arsenal, players want to play for him and like Fergie, when interviewed they will often say that it's because of their desire to work with such esteemed managers, that they are attracted to the club. Fergie set the bar so high at Utd that Moyes the Bartender is going to have a really tough act to follow.
Apparently Clint Dempsey has been transfer listed at Sp*rs. I think they are trying to find the money to buy Benteke
I heard someone saying on the radio the other day that Moyes will find it harder to get players to sign for him. It looks like Rooney will soon be on his way out from Stretford http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jul/14/wayne-rooney-david-moyes-manchester-united
They are trying to offload Adebayor too Good luck with that. Personally I think Benteke is a massive gamble, Villa aren't going to let him go cheap and Spuds could end up saddled with another one season wonder. If Bale has any sort of dip in form, they are ****ed
He could turn out to be another Santa Cruz or Kevin Doyle but I think Benteke has a bit more about him than those two. £25m would be a big risk though, especially for a club like spurs
Benteke is a bit pricey for £25m, I mean, he hasn't done a great deal apart from one good season. He should be worth around £15m-£20m tops. Otherwise could be risky at £25m
We can only hope, but an Andy Carroll mk2 would be too much to ask for, even if we had a magic lamp.....But at least we can still laugh at Liverpool for buying that donkey for £35m!
Talk in the papers that Utd are going after Fabregas again, thought we'd heard the last of that bollox
I hope they don't think because Carroll was worth £35m that Suarez is worth £50m though .... I remember Chelsea getting mugged for 50m for Torres and thinking Liverpool had just made out like Bandits, then they went and wasted the best part of it on Carroll
Benteke has to be one of the most overrated players in the league. Heard Villa fans on talksport banging on about £25-30m .
They do tend to over price players. £30-£35m would be more than enough for Suarez allowing them to bring in some reinforcements. But the problem is they seem to be struggling to get in top players now as they are not in the Champions league. This might make Liverpool more stubborn to keep him.
I don't know about you but there is a sense of doom hanging over United right now. I am an Arsenal fan, but even leaving Arsenal out of it, I don't see how their squad comes close to Chelsea or Man City, without Fergie's pixie dust magic. I can't believe that players don't see that as well. There have been no big signings early and I just wonder how much money there is, in a year where there are plenty of teams flashing cash around. It is not a good year to be rebuilding. I sort of see vultures circling at United. Everything comes to an end eventually. It did at Liverpool and it has to happen at United.
Liverpool were utterly ****ing clueless in deciding how to best move forward. they made every single bad decision they possibly could and felt they were too big to fall so far. I'm of the opinion United are not Liverpool aka morons.
Suarez isn't worth anything less than 40m to us, he's our best player. We managed to do really well in getting the 50m for Torres but we all know he wasn't worth it. But how can you say that 30-35m will get Suarez when you've had a 30m bid rejected already? 40m+ is what he's worth, he's young and has premier league experience.
