I recently watched Requiem for a Dream starrring Jared Leto & Jennifer Connelly, poignant, very dark, depressing study of human obsession. Portrays the grass roots drugs world, and reality t.v. in a similar way as Fight Club, but a lot lot darker. Brilliantly played and produced, a must see .... but no chick flick.
Haha, yes, I particularly like the new vampire asylum/prison/testing lab/arena and the stupidly cheesy flashbacks to some unexplained random point in the days of yore BC. Nice and accurate as ever.
just finished Vikings season 1 - G.O.T. type of thing about ......Vikings! not wonderful but worth a watch whilst waiting for something better. Currently near the end of Dexter S7 Just finished the previous season of True Blood ... fangtastic! Awaiting the last season of FRINGE, also waiting on GRIMM S2 and Falling Sky S2. Oh and nearly forgot I've just finished Breaking Bad S1 too .. totally hooked, absolute quality.
Yep, great film, plus Jennifer Connelly is grade A hotness. Worth checking out most of Darren Aronofsky's stuff if you're new to him. Looking forward to Noah.
Not sure what it is but sookie aka Anna Paquin is losing her lure with me. Think it is her looking ultra thin, almost sickly? Jason is a boss btw haha.
Yeah, she is super toned but very very thin and I say this as someone who likes a thinner girl, facially she doesn't do much for me anyway. The new female boss vampire in the prison was nice. Jason, what a badass, love how he has no clue about anything really and Steve Newlyn's ex's reaction, 'my body is a ****'n temple and you've defiled it with your vampire lovin' pecker', awesome. LaFayette is brilliant as well.
If you're on a viking kick you should take a look at Nicolas Winding Refn's film Valhalla Rising, very strange but also atmospheric. I can't believe how long they've made us wait for the second part of Breaking Bad season 6, nearly here though.
This thread needs to come back to life. So, a few recommendations gents... Clear History(coming soon) - the new HBO Larry David movie; if you haven't seen Curb Your Enthusiasm go and do that! Only God Forgives - the latest Ryan Gosling / Nicholas Winding Refn flick; Muay Thai, Samurai Swords, drugs cartel, one hot-ass prostitute and one bad-ass policeman. Breaking Bad, Season 5, Part 2 - the concluding, final and hopefully life changing last six episodes of this great show begin on Sunday. If you haven't seen any of it I'd suggest binge watching the first 4 and a half seasons before tuning into this as you'd be denying yourself a great tv journey.
The first half of this was good, nice design and story but the second got way too baggy with some real Hollywood schmaltz thrown in, the main characters wife reappearing and his implausible garden paradise. Plus the finale was basically Independence Day.
Hoping the Larry David movie isn't too much of a Curb rehash. There will be 8 episodes for the end of Breaking Bad, though I might wait so I can save them up and watch in a couple of sittings
Under the dome has been alright, Falling Skies season finally was alright, True Blood is in a weird state but decent still, and waiting for all of the fall shows and the prem really! About to watch Wolverine at some point tonight or tomorrow.
I gave up on Under the Dome after the first two episodes, the book is great. And the TV series is nothing like the book, which is a shame.
