Summer 2013 Transfer Rumour Thread - Mk3

Quaglierella doesn't excite me. 12m for a 30 year old who isn't even that prolific. No thanks.

 

So I thought I was up with alot of the football world. Apparently that is not the case, these players we are being linked with I have never heard of. I'll admit it! Everyone else is like oooo him, ahhh yes he would be amazing signing, hmm not so sure on him. I had not heard of the following until it appeared on here.

Leandro Damião?
Fabio Quagliarella?
Ever Banega?

to name a recent few. Now is this people genuiely knowing the player? Alot of FM and Fifa talk? Hearing the name doing the research and going by paper and youtube? Actually not having a clue and going along with it? Or just me?

 

They're all very well known players! A lot of people base their opinion of Damiao on FM and FIFA, which is why a lot of our fans think he's incredible (he always ends up at someone like City scoring 25 a season on FM), but Quagliarella has been capped a lot by Italy and has played for Juventus for years, and teams like Napoli before that, and Ever Banega is one of the better playmakers in La Liga for Valencia and also has a fair few Argentinian caps. Quagliarella will look good in Youtube videos because some of the goals he scores are amazing, but he's really not that good, £12m would be an outrage, especially considering he's 30.

 

I really rate Quaglierella, but agree that at his age we shouldn't be paying that much for him. I have no issue buying 30 year old players, but we can't spend large amounts on them

 

You obviously don't play that Football Manager nonsense otherwise you would know everything there is to know about every player!

Quagliarella is a very good player but 12 million for a 30 year old is stupid money. The reports of him going to Norwich last week were of a fee of 6 million which seems a little bit more sensible.

This stinks of the agent trying to invite bids for his player.

Juventus now have Llorente, Vucinic, Tevez, Giovinco and Matri and FQ is likely to be way down in the pecking order. We are an easy team to be linking players to at the moment, especially from Italy and this transfer would go against any other transfer we have made in the last couple of years.

I'm not totally sure that's such an accurate analogy. Think given the choice, I'd still go for the Razzle. 'Class' isn't always what's best in such a situation... whereas on the football front it most definitely would be.

Just read Norwich were linked with a 7.5 milion bid for FQ, but with Saints for 12 million?

 

Would be happy if Pochettino wanted him. But £12million euros is too much for a 30 year old

Man Utd have bid €30-35m for Fabregas.

 

You might have seen him for Italy in WC and Euros. He scored an amazing goal in of the great modern tournament group games at the last World Cup, against Slovakia.

Personally not too interested, though - particularly for that money.
