Went to Lierse in Belgium play Leeds .I went the day before the game and had a look roung the ground spotted that they had placed temporary scaffolding very close to the field of play I was so concerned I went to see Don who was staying at an hotel in Anterwp where I was working and told him about it .The press must have heard aboput it and when I went to a pub close to the ground I was collared by Derek POTTER who wrote for the Daily Express he invited me into the press box for the game and afterwards to the teams reception.Rod Belfitt gave me his tiepin with the Lierse badge on it.I roomed with Derek and went out with the players taking Sprakey foud the bars I pulled and Gary didn't I told him your reputation is no good out here its my territory! Don invited me to fly back with them I usually flew to Heathrow and then Leeds so I gratefully accepted and I was sat next to Allan Clarke and from then on went ouyt with him and his wife Margaret so you can say I have very fond memories of my Belgium trip
"Every player dreams about playing in England so I really hope that this will become reality for me." Yeah but just not at Leeds! Would you sign for Leeds Mick?
Morning all I think that Hall's career with us started to end the moment he signed for us. Sad that he actually had no future with us from the beginning. As for Diouf the fact Byram went over Slovenia whilst injured and Diouf didn't pretty much says it all. I can see a few Championship clubs snapping at our hands to get him. Despite the being a idiot he is a talented player. Haven't been to any games abroad but I would like to see Benfica and Sporting Lisbon in a Lisbon derby one day
Cairns maybe? He was due to start the Domzale friendly but Kenny came in. I'm not saying it is him but it would make sense.
Rumour from down under guys http://www.foxsports.com.au/footbal...and/story-e6frf4gl-1226678521569#.UePZJI3DkUs Looks like were going for an aussie kid called Craig Goodwin that had a trial with Reading a couple of months ago
Too right Eire as we've bagged proven Championship quality players without paying a bean in transfer fees as opposed to you guys paying a £1m for an overpriced league 1 player! It's not all about paying over the odds as you know from bitter experience Tbf FFP and the economic times have helped us a lot this pre-season as I can't remember this amount of quality signings in a long, long time.
I suppose you're right, you could call Jermaine Easter and Richard Chaplow quality for a League 1 side...
Hello all. Can't wait for team to get back so McD can move out those not required and hopefully land some more targets. Feeling very positive with McD at the helm, he takes no prisoners and just cracks on. Boggers, had a lekker braai yesterday mate
Easter yes - Chaplow no. Was wanted by some Premiership teams but came to us instead - a very good signing - proven at this level. I'm just glad we are not gambling by taking our main signings from lower league 1 sides
