I agree. I have no problem with Ramirez and Rodriguez playing wide, so that's enough depth there.

I get the feeling that what we might call a "winger" is not going to be a particularly important role in MP's system.

 

A midfield made up of Wanyama and Schneiderlin behind Ramirez, Banega and Rodriguez would mean the likes of Cork, Lallana, Davis, JWP and Puncheon on the bench (at best). That looks pretty damn strong to me.

 

Oh DAMN! Haha.

 

At home, then away I'd drop Cork in for one of the flair players to tighten things up a little, or have Rickie on the bench.

If Mauricio can convince Ever to join then it would be an incredible coup for the club and that game changer we've talked about.
Will be interesting to see how we setup in pre-season, could give an idea of how Pochettino is thinking

 

Well we have been linked to two forwards who are both worth over 15m, if we pull one off he will be n the bench anyways.

 

True. If we get one of those £15m strikers, I may pull one off

 

I remember saying the same thing when we were linked to Nicky Maynard. Pablo Osvaldo and Leandro Damiao might be a bit different.

Yeah there's no guarantee that would be the line up every week. You could switch Cork in just to give one of the other 2 DMs a break. There might be games where the more direct approach of Puncheon could be preferable out wide, although Poch doesn't seem to rate him that highly. Deciding who to leave out is a nice problem to have!

 

If we can get Banega. Wow.

Speaking from personal experience are we?

 

I think the thing here to take in to account is that obviously signing Dejan and Victor we have already scored our MAJOR coups.., But If MP is close to convincing Ever to join us, that would mean other serious players will turn there heads and actually think; Wait a minute.. I wanna be apart of that! They are building a solid team of YOUNG players who will only get better.. Potentially we have 2 future England FBs in our squad.

 

They did follow it up with the same guy saying Bertrand won't go to Liverpool and there may be a swap deal Bertrand/Shaw...

 

In the past 13 years of supporting Southampton, I've never been as exciting and smug as I am right now!! This transfer window is just sooo good!! People are really taking notice!
