I'd wait until this rumour hits a reliable media outlet. That Saint Leandro thread is embarrassingly premature.

Well he was right about us bidding for Wanyama before just about everyone else. But as Joe has said far too early to make a thread just yet.

 

To translate further, it says that Valencia were happy with our offer of 10m euros but Banega wasn't initially interested but has been since persuaded by MP's vision and style of play as well as his udnerstanding of Banega's style.

Slightly paraphrased but ye....I realise there are no quotes but it's hot off the press in Spain

 

Unusual if true, what on earth are we going to do with all these players?

In rotation with Lallana, Ramirez and Rickie/whoever our striker is. I'd probably have him over Lallana anyway based on last season.

 

Same here, I was just using him as a example.

 

I suppose, still seems a bit odd to me. We're going to end up with about 5 players who all want to play in that central position.

 

Beef does that report fit in roughly with what you've had? I.e that if Banega can agree terms then the deal is good to go? Based largely on MP's influence

 

If we get the serious chance to sign Ever Banega, it's got to be done.


Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Cork, Banega, Gaston is ridiculous. That's before JWP and S. Davis.

Asked someone who follows Valencia and has a knowledge of Spanish football/press etc.

He tells me that the article from 'Sport' means it is likely to be pretty accurate. They're good with their coverage of Valencia.

However, not the most reliable for all things football. Just normally good with Valencia.

Of course the issue lies in the fact Banega is not convinced about a side like us.
