Guaranteed to be doping. We'll find out in a couple years. Contador can't cope now he's drug free.

    Your grammar is wrong.

If he was anything other than English, all of you would question his achievement.

What? Nobody questioned Armstrong's achievements until he was found out, so your theory is bull.

Nobody at your local? that may be. That's because he hid behind his charities and his media image was so polished that it blinded everyone but many doubted him.

I can tell you for a fact (as I am currently on holiday there) that 5 mins after he had crossed the line, all the french media had implied that it could be worth questioning his performance.

I'd be ready to bet that the same goes for all non-british media.

Edit: quick search on Belgian news, all the comments by users talk about doping.
Of course he's innocent until proven guilty but my theory is valid. He's a ****ing star in the British media's eyes, simple case of bias.

You're talking ****. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest he's a doper. Team Sky have a strong anti doping policy. But let's look at it.

People are always going to question outstanding performances in the current climate, which is very sad.

Media are always going to talk about doping. They want him to be a doper. It makes for a bigger story.

The french media in particular have a chip on their shoulder. Something to do with no frenchman winning the tour for donkeys. Infact not even looking like winning the tour. Then suddenly these British Johnny come latelys arrive on the scene. No particular pedigree of any success in road cycling and we are pissing all over them. Damn right they are looking for easy excuses. He must be a doper!

The fact is, he isn't blowing people away like Armstrong did at times. He's just that bit better. Isn't that always going to be the case in clean sport?

    Stage 16: Vaison-la-Romaine - Gap (168km).
Likely to be an early breakaway group, and those who can climb and also have a sprint finish might win the day - such as Sagan or Quintana.

A good win by Rui Costa. Froome, Contador and Mollema all finished 11 mins 08 secs down on Costa, so there's no change in the top three.

    Stage 17: Embrun - Chorges (31km).

An individual Time Trial, through mountain terrain. Chris Froome is favourite to win - he can climb and ride time trials.

    2nd time-check: fastest = Contador; 2nd = Kreuziger @ 8 secs; 3rd = Froome @ 20 secs.

Froome swapped bikes at the top. 12k to go before we see if the gamble works.

Most have swapped, Dutch - affected by rain.

Contador so far finished 1st, by 1 sec. Mollema and Froome yet to finish.

Froome dropped 11 seconds swapping bikes and still pulled back to finish 9 seconds ahead. Contrasting styles with Contador dancing down and Froome picking a way around the corners and tucked up.

****ing brilliant, what a great comeback from Chris.

I really do now think he will win it. And will win it more comfortably and emphatically than Wiggo.

Sadly Froome probably won't get the same national recognition as Wiggins, even though he certainly deserves it.

Froome is like Armstrong, in a way. Not the drugs (hopefully!), but he is a champion. Wiggo isn't in the same class - had to be hauled up mountains last year - when Froome could have won those stages and was, in fact, restrained so 'Sir' Bradley could win.

Another thing about Froome: he's one of only two men who have won on Mont Ventoux, whilst wearing the Yellow Jersey.

The other is, of course, the great Eddy Mercx.
