Will he be an integral part of the team? Probably not. Can he play a part? Absolutely. He's a very versatile and useful player and played in 18 games last season, so he's definitely got a role to play.
Yeah, I just don't think you've got anyone that stands out in that role and it's an important area to fill if you're going to play Pochettino's style of football. A really intelligent player who can shift the ball around would come in really useful. Banega might be that guy, I've not really seen much of him playing.
Apologies if posted earlier. Saw this SKY article via NewsNow. Interesting stats on the contribution of Wanyama to Celtic in the CL, of Morgan Schneiderlin in the PL, and Jack Cork's contribution once Pochettino took over. Jack Cork admirers [me included] will be delighted. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11096/8820344/Pochettino-s-plans
If all three perform to their capabilities it should be a very formidable midfield.....a match for any team.
It`ll be interesting to see how Ramirez steps up this season - with VW/Spider/Cork/Davis winning and keeping the ball, he should be free to strut his stuff.
