Its a pointless game, a friendly of irrelevance, nobody looks into it, unless you are from Chav FC

friendly, preseason, kickabout call it what you like man utd went there to win and put on a good show to recruit more fans....You cant pass this off as an exercise of irrelevance as what is the point of going all the way to the far east in the first place, you could have played FC man utd to do that. Its may be just a 1-0 loss but you were suppose to beat an all star team and you could not even score a goal...nothing went to script on the day and its not a common thing for utd not to score.....

United win fans by winning titles not friendly games against players no one ever heard of, even most of those attending the games over there probably never heard of a lot of the players who played against United<laugh>

The vast majority of our preseason games on tour end up being far less one sided than most people assume, and we often fail to score. The main aim is not to go out there and win, but to big up our profile and avoid injuries, either to ourselves or others. We don't want players injuring themselves for obvious reasons, and our image in Australia took a major knock a few years back when Andy Cole broke an Aussie international's leg in a pre season friendly, not to mention the Aussies threatening to sue the club. I also doubt local fans will be all that happy if we turn up and take the piss by running up a massive scoreline.

So the club and manager would much rather a team of mostly fringe players gets turned over than have the full team work its arse off to embarrass the local side in a pointless game, and risk injuries or bad publicity as a result.

The irony is we get accused of being arrogant for thinking everyone is interested in United.

Surprising how many non-United fans, especially Chavs, watch United's pre-season games.

To be fair you don't have to watch it when it's on the BBC football home page.

So the expert opinions on how we played etc is all based on a BBC Sport article? Makes sense.

Well I don't base it on that personally, but people do that yes.
