Tremmel getting a lot of game time. I assume he will be doing the Europa League as well as the domestic cups?
Went off the pace in the second half with some sloppy passing and poor crossing. Jazz was guilty on at least two occasions. With space to spare, he hoisted one cross so high both teams had time to get all their players under it!! The other time he failed to take out the first defender. Promising player, but a professional footballer has to be better at the basics than this. A whole lot better. Bony isn't a magic man. He needs the ball to score, so our players had better learn how to get the ball into him on a regular basis. Pablo is one who can do it. Poz looks to have the ability and certainly Shelvey does. Ki can do it and Routs isn't bad either. If that lot can get service into Bony and Michu, we'll score a lot of goals but we have to stop faffing about looking for that extra pass as Lamah did. He made a brilliant break and instead of shooting, tried to set up Bony for a tap in. Less of that, please. Shooting opportunities are like gold dust and must be taken when they arrive. Bony might well have got a goal anyway from a rebound off the keeper if Lamah had shot. Not a bad performance but the first half was easily our best period and, for me, Shelvey is already making a strong claim for a starting place. Could turn out to be a gem of a buy.
The thing with Shelvey is that he really could prosper under ML's guidance. Not being disrespectful to Rodgers but Laudrup was a better player and can pass things on that Rodgers can't. Routledge being an example in question
Spot on Dreyfus. Really looking forward to seeing how Jonjo goes in the second half of the season after a few months of guidance from ML.
I think I was one of the few people who said Shelvey would be a good signing. Enjoying being able to say told you do with a smirk
Long way for him to go yet. when he is playing well and doing good things against top PL sides on a regular basis, then you have got it right.
I think I better start eating my words now. Before they signed I said that Shelvey can't tackle, can't pass and can't shoot and wouldn't fit our midfield, WRONG. I also said that Bony looked lethargic, even lazy, a bit Jason Scotlandy [with Wigan], WRONG AGAIN. So far Shelvey looks a great buy and appears to be insinuating himself nicely into our midfield. On tour he's shown an eye for the long ball, is comfortable tippy tapping his way through the midfield, has been decent both on and off the ball and has shown great desire to play our way. .... and Bony looked anything but Lazy yesterday. He moved quickly and effectively, held up the ball well, provided a huge target for our midfield, showed a deft touch, and was a threat on the ground and in the air. If Lamah had his passing boots on; in fairness he looked decent too, then Bony would have slotted a couple. Amat looks like a star in the making too. Happy days
Routledge's goal with the through ball from Shelvey http://m.101greatgoals.com/goals/en...ence-in-1-0-swansea-win-away-at-ado-den-haag/
I thought Lamah played a good game, and he showed some real skill. His pass to Bony, **** happens. Pass was too fast, Bony was too slow. And it was a friendly and he arguably wanted Bony to score his first goal. if Lamah starts scoring he has reminiscence of Faustino Asprilla. If he doesn't he ain't half bad. Just like the rest of the squad ain't half bad. I do have a hard time accepting the critiscism that shows up. Not least because of the bullying and negativity with which these points of view are expressed. To me it seems easy to understand, these people can't wrap their head around the size of our midfielder squad, and contrary to what they say, they are very busy trying to weed out the guy that shouldn't play. And so we have this schoolyard bullying, showing all that these people aren't leaders themselves, and aren't fit to be either. Edit: It's by far worst on Planet Swans, and I frankly can't take their behaviour in any dose.
Viking, We've covered this point before... often. We are here to comment, give our opinions and exchange views. It's great when we can talk about good things but the not so good merit attention as well. If a player is sloppy, doesn't look fit or seems to lack heart then we have a right to comment on it. They are ships that pass in the night, here for as long as it suits them, here so long as the cheques stack up. We fans are the constant. We, the fans will outlast any player, any manager. It's OUR club: they choose to be a part of it for as long as it's convenient and for as long as it's financially beneficial to them. They get paid massive wages in comparison to those of us who give our support, support that for many of us goes back decades. Consequently, if they deserve criticism, if it is justified, they will get it from me and I hope from a lot of others. This is not bullying or being negative, particularly when such criticism is constructive and accurate. Naturally, we would all prefer never to see criticism on here because that means our team is doing well. Long may that be the state of things.
That's fair enough, but the drivel that came from Lamah being a bit too generous even though he had a great game. Clearly some felt it was their duty to relieve ML from his large midfield and talk someone of the team. Concluded from a friendly ffs.
