Although the numbers wern't great. it was a friendly, it was scorching heat, alot of people would rather be doing other things than watch football in a meaningless game
Our support for a attractive friendly was embarrasing to say the least. Rangers showed what proper support is about, full respect to them. I really thought this game would have been a near sellout when it was arranged. The Rangers crowd were top drawer.
I said on another thread top respect to them, loved the flares but what the **** was that bang, I thought they blew the end up If it wasn't a friendly I could imagin them being a bit more hostile but they done well getting us to sing god save the queen and rule Britannia.
The price maybe and I mean maybe was on the high side but the biggest topic of the day was how poor city's support was. Gers are one of the biggest clubs in Britain, their support showed it. City today looked small time and utterly second rate.
I was somewhat surprised at the gate was expecting there to be another 3-4000 but the sunny weather might have sent them all off to W-S-M with the kiddies.
Got yossy in all my yesrs watching city at tge gate that was the hottest by a country mile Intrustin language that which county is it from cos it didn't read like Brissle
don't judge today on attendance...if it had been cloudy and the temp about 65 the crowd would have been about 9/10,000...we have had **** weather for 2 years...although I am usually away for whole of August...at home its been crap so people are taking advantage in case August is the month of low temps and damp................. Rangers is the team I support/follow north of the border...so fair dinkums.... game was what the weather deserved slow and easy
Heard about blaming crap weather for poor attendance but never great weather for the same. Attendance yesterday was shocking.
I never went because of the weather The kids decided they would rather have a mass water fight in the garden Also they didn't care who Rangers are
Soon as I saw the forcast I wondered about the attendance because I could Imagine the wives saying It's gonna be hot you can take me and the kids to the sea side/zoo/circus/funfair today not go and watch football you selfish buggar. Plus just realised it is the middle of the Orange order marching season which will have affected the Rangers crowd.
Tickets should have been booked as soon as the fixture was announced. Sometimes as fans we should look at ourselves as well. As a friendly it won't get much better. Lansdow might want to inform the board , " I am not paying these police bills, stick to Forest Green". City's support yesterday to visitors e.g Poles who were there looked pathetic.
Thanks not only the ones that stayed away were ****e, but the ones who bothered to go were also ****e??
Rangers are an oddity in British football, but yesterday they showed BCFC what support was about . Different planets. Dsappointed to see thousands of empty seats. I expected ten thousand plus City fans to turn up. Sobering Sobering again to see how little football means in Bristol.
