For people to argue that a name change makes no difference consider this, would they like to change their own name or the name of their offspring just because someone thought it had greater appeal to someone who doesn't know them? It's preposterous.Did the change from Yorkshire to Humberside upset the few or the many on both sides of the river and then the change back? Money isn't the be all and end all when it comes to values. Heritage and pride matter to people, names are important, and that is why this debate has been so vitriolic. For people to believe that the change of a name means little or nothing makes me ponder on their integrity as individuals
I changed mine to Happy Clapper, and I can state with some certainty I am much more popular now and also better off. My change was more extreme than is being rumoured than what is happening to the actual club name, and has obviously happened as opposed to the alleged club name which doesn't appear to have any date by which it will happen, but hey, it worked out well for me.
This is someone else's view.... (You have to overlook the bad spelling in it). http://twohundredpercent.net/?p=23752
we moved to a ground with a different name. (Or remind me - were there some dinosaurs who wanted the KC to be named Boothferry Park.) So i really don't get the whinges about it is heritage and history. We used to send little sproglets up the chimneys in years gone past (personally I still would - let them earn their keep),
