It always baffles me how people seem to have forgotten what a little **** Dennis Wise was when he was a player. You can trace his DNA through to the lower forms of life currently residing in the Chelsea dressing room (i.e. Terry, Lampard, Cole)

If you're dumb enough to play that card, then we should also consider...

    Steven Gerrard
    Frequent diver
    Guilty of some nasty tackles
    Assaults people in clubs
Lets his mates go to jail for said assault whilst he walks free

    Jamie Carragher
Charged with assault following a road rage incident

    Andy Carroll
    Assaulting his girlfriend
    Arrested after a nightclub brawl
Charged after glassing someone in a club
    Broke a teammate's jaw

    Raheem Sterling
    Assaulting a woman

    Stewart Downing
    Assaulting a former girlfriend

It's more a case of trying to avoid big arguments. I always feel like if you go on another team's board and get annoyed/wummed then it's your own fault but sometimes it's best to nip it in the bud when it kicks off. Generally people log in here to read Spurs news and fan opinions on Spurs, not long drawn out arguments.

Anyway it's a null point at the moment as you're all behaving <cheers>

No contest, Sewerez wins this hands down, the biggest diver and cheat in the history of football, racially abuses people, assaults people, intentionally tries to injure opponents, feigns in jury and over reacts every time he is tackled (have I forgotten anything?).

Probably Gerrard next closely followed by Terry.

Steven "I hit him 7 times in self defence your honour" Gerrard in particular gets away with most things on the football pitch (and in nightclubs), bad tackles, dives etc, this golden boy can do no wrong.

Agree that Dennis Wise was an odious and spiteful little ****, classic example of small man trying to act hard.

And if you're going to include wife beaters, then Gazza has to be in that list too.

One thing that always got me is how Mario Balotelli was a nasty piece of work, yet was always excused because he was a "character" - making him the Boris Johnson of football.

Various commentators thinking that Paul Scholes' habit of cynically scything down opposition players was funny is pretty similar. It's not funny, it's clearly a combination of dirty play and a cynical tactic to stop opponents hitting Man Utd on the break (Michael Ballack was equally guilty of this tactic throughout his career, but commentators didn't chuckle whenever he did it)

Chelsea's habit of machine gunning, with their midfielders taking it in turns to foul a key opposition player so maybe one or two of them would be booked after the same player had been clattered, three, four or five times was also remarkably obnoxious at the time - and the bloke who had his players use this tactic has just returned to the club. Oh joy...

    Barton.

I also think Cole gets far too much stick, only people with a right to loathe him are gooners, he seems a knob as a bloke but calling him scum is ridiculous.

Also, read someone refer to Lampard as a "lower form of life", laughable.

I think the better question is who is the nicest. We can all agree most footballers are ****s, with more money than they know what to do, whilst being in the public eye.

    So nicest footballer anyone??

Because filming yourself, Rio Ferdinand and Keiron Dyer having group sex with a woman in Ayia Napa is evidence of being a higher form of life?
Because having an all-day drinking and banter session that involved verbally abusing American tourists the day after 9/11 is evidence of being a higher form of life?
Because storming up the pitch to berate the ref whenever a decision doesn't go his team's way every bit as much as Roy Keane is evidence of being a higher form of life?
Because being every bit the diver Steven Gerrard is is evidence of being a higher form of life?

My first bit of advice is to take the blinkers off. The second piece of advice is where to stick them.
