Tendulkar walks when India are 600-5 and he's got a century, he doesn't walk when it might affect the outcome.

Not walking, granted but remember when Dhoni revoked his appeal at tea time? He gave Bell an absolute gift.

    Rings a bell.

I like to see the correct decisions made but we are nowhere near getting them right 100%. The reviews were supposed to be there to correct the howlers but instead teams "chance their arm" with them and sometimes end up regretting that. We could take the umpires off the field and do the whole lot via TV coverage but even that isn't fool proof...cough...Trott...

And Bell again earlier in the summer with his stumping that the tv gave as out.

I am sure the Dhoni thing wasn't that long ago. As I recall Eoin Morgan he was at bat, ran a single off the last ball before tea and then Bell just ****ed off before the umpire could call for tea. The bails were whipped off and Bell was given out.

So the story goes, Tendulkar spoke to MS who asked the umpires to let Bell carry on....

Edit: nothing worse than half a story

I recall discussing it on here I'm sure.

I remember it, the correct decision was arrived at, spirit of the game and all.

A couple of not in the spirit things by England I can recall:
    1. Inzamam Ul Haq given ran out when he jumped out of the way of the ball thrown straight at him and it hit the stumps
    2. Collingwood running out someone, can't remember who, who'd collided with the bowler, Broad? Broad has been in a fair few controversies.

I like to see the correct decision every time as anything else spoils the game but as regards walking, the Aussies are hardly in a position to be taking the moral high ground. We can't get decisions 100% right - take grounded catches on TV replays for example. I think we've got the balance about right with the two reviews, just don't gamble them on half-hearted appeals. It does trouble me though that the ball just hitting or just in line is "umpire's call". That could do with tightening up so, say, >25% of the ball hitting/in line = given.

Yeah, the umpire's call should be changed a bit. Where the decision is to go with the umpires call you shouldn't lose the appeal.

Broad is a bit of a **** tbh. Running on the pitch today as well was a bit naughty. The Aussies are of course no angels.

Broad should have walked. If we are going to beat the Australians let's beat them fair and square.

Alex Stewart was the best at that....."Hoooow is it?"

A pal of mine was a bowler at chool. Bowled a perfect plum lbw and never asked the umpire so the umpire never gave the other fella out. At the end of the over the umpire told him he would have given it if the question was asked.... The **** has asked or every single thing since that day.

Michael Clarke who apologised for not walking in 2009 for not walking.....is today not walking.

Not blatant but he hit it.

    Out....

The bowler.... Who'd have guessed it. Stewart Broad.

    What a great Test match.
