By his own admission, only if the right club comes in for him, though. ie. he doesn't want to go to Cardiff.

Doesn't mean he couldn't get a subs appearance here and there. I think next season will be when he starts to step up.

Of course not, but you'd think if Poche thinks Targett was ready to be in the squad and being slowly bottle-fed into being Shaw's back-up that he would have brought him on the tour. He could easily still end up featuring early but to me the obvious thing to infer with four other youth players brought on the trip and Targett left home is that he is not at the forefront of Poche's plans and Fox is still penciled in as back-up.

Rightly or wrongly, it's fairly clear in my mind that Poch doesn't mind Fox as back up LB.

I agree. While quite a few people have suggested we need new backup at left back I haven't seen many people suggesting any realistic names either.

I was more getting at maybe Pochettino feels Fox is ok back up and with Targett breaking through in a season or two there's really no point in buying anyone.

Seems to have been some movement on the Banega thread on SaintsWeb, I can't read it though as this computer won't use the microsoft translate thing. Someone take a quick run over there?

The cut a long story short, the jist of it seems to suggest we've had a breakthrough. Contracts have been drawn up. It's seem as a priority by the club.

Wonder what the odds are for Banega to sigh for us?

Very promising. I was a little concerned a week or two ago but things look to be shaping up reasonably well now.

Ever banega would be the best signing we could ever hope to make atm, truly world class on his day. He would be a class above what we've got now in term of passing but I think he would really benefit from coming to Southampton he would be able to sort himself out off the field and I reckon Pochettino would get him playing his best football.

I completely agree. Still can't really accept we're after an Argentinian international playmaker and Brazil's first choice striker.

You can see why Pochettino was excited by coming here, by the looks of things he has been given the all clear to build his pressing dream team.

I'm sure he is just relieved that he isn't being forced to sell his best players each window.

Could explain why we are not seeing puncheon in the Spain pictures. Still think there is a place for him here
