    Just to clarify...this isn't a joke.

The Niger flag is like the city side in Derry. All Irish with an Orange spot in the middle.

    Sam McBride ‏@SJAMcBride 10m

Nigel Dodds was not fully concussed - Cllr Brian Kingston, with him at the time, says Dodds could recognise him & held his hand after injury.

    Thank goodness.

Twelfth band plays 'The Sash' outside Catholic Church

12 July 2013 Last updated at 12:58 BST

A band taking part in Twelfth July parades has played the loyalist song The Sash as it stood outside St Patrick's Catholic Church on Donegall Street.

This is in contravention of a ruling by the Parades Commission, the body set up to rule on contentious parades in Northern Ireland.

Rebel hoy, the next band pasting the Church played the famine song. Where do they
want us to go , to hell or Connaught again.

On nights like tonight I worry for poor Medro getting wet from the police water canon.
Poor Medro could be in danger, he is not on here recently.

This is Patrick Med Dog's local event where they celebrated the Union by throwing Loyalty Bins and Union Bottles at the Queen's servants on the streets of East Belfast.

    Fun for all the family.

Do you support the PSNI and the NI Justice system in it's attempts to convict anyone who ever behaves like this, Rebel?

Wholly depressing to see grown men and women setting such a fine example to their kids. What I find really amazing is the way the Police just stood and accepted such extreme provocation, if ever baton rounds were justified, here is a prime example yet no rounds were fired, no Police snatch squads to root out the ringleaders and as far as I could see no arrests were made. If there were no arrests on this occasion, I dread to think how bad it must have been when people were lifted in other peaceful demonstrations.

What is pretty typical though is what is seen at the end of the video. When the Police eventually block the road and the walkers arrive, people (and I use that word in it's loosest possible sense) remonstrating with the Police and asking why they are being prevented from going any further. <doh>

Dev all the cops need to do is stand there and record the thing (plus every **** and their dug records it themselves, then sticks it on Youtube) - there will be photographs of the hundreds of rioters they don't already know in the papers in the next few days and the PSNI will go to their houses and snatch them in their beds.

It is incredible that these rioters were stupid enough to not even bother to try disguise themselves, given this method of conviction has been going for quite a while.

There is a distinction between the Police and the judiciary. I support the notion of justice and also the notion of access to justice.

Ach how times have changed, all this modern technology is no fun at all. Much better to have a four man team in training shoes behind the shield wall and when you down a couple of the jolly pranksters with rubber bullets the wall opens and the snatch squad grab the wounded while they are down.

    That's the old fashioned way.

Mind you I suppose there is something to be said for arresting them in the early hours while they are bleary eyed thru sleep, watching the laughter turn to realisation as they are carted off for a day's fun in court. Revenge perhaps is a dish served up cold.
