To join our squad. Past of present.

Sorry if this has been done already but I was thinking about all of my favorite players from childhood and imagining them playing in the all white strip and hearing their names being chanted by the Jack Army.

Anyway, I'll get the ball rolling - I have many players I would absolutely love to have in their prime at the Swans, including Zidane, Del Piero, Nedved and Gigi Buffon but the one I'll have to go for would be the rock of any team and would command the midfield like Braveheart, it's Gennaro Gattuso!

Here's a video of him to remind you all -

Good shout there on Nedved Union. That lad could strike a ball with both feet.

i missed Ivor's second spell at the vetch by 1 year as i began watching the Swans in 69/70 but i was very fortunate to see Ivor Allchurch in his last year at Pontardawe Athletic at the age of 50, but i would have loved to have seen him in his prime playing for the Swans, He was one of the best.

Sir Matt Busby – "Ivor never needed a number on his back for identification. His polish, his class could not be missed. He vies with the greatest of all time, yet he has a modesty that becomes him"
Sir Bobby Charlton: "He was a great player, with footballing presence and charisma"
Bobby Moore:"One of the best inside-forwards I have ever played against"

it does not get any better than that

Brazilian Ronaldo in his prime would have led the line in our team like no other. Lethal finisher.

"absolute gems".

Indeed they were,Mabon, but at least Cliffy did get to play for The Swans' whilst John was snatched away by Leeds.

They weren't the only gems to come out of the Swansea Schools in the post war years. So many in fact, it resembled a production line, and our near neighbours could only look on with envy as the Swansea area produced it's rich crop of talent, year on year.
