Can Real even afford Suarez anymore after all they've spent so far? I worry they'll offer 20mill plus some random ****e players from the B team on the last day and we'll accept it.

Incidently, Illarramendi impressed in the recent tournament (I forget which) and plays in a role very similar to Xabi - meaning he'll probably be off next summer with Illarramendi taking over that spot. Don't want Xabi next season, at least a season too old by then. Other option is that Chavski have stepped up their interest in Alonso and Real are just getting a replacement.

Isn't BR asking for one more year then he can go wherever? If he really wants Real, this will probably suit him best actually as we are asking 40 mil and they will probably want to haggle after blowing their load on Isco and Illaramendi ( still can't believe that price!).

He also said he wants a move because of the English press. Turns out it was all lies, at least the pool fans see that now

  10. That's what Man Utd / Fergie usually does and it works. I think a lot of Liverpool fans have had a enough of his antics though which is why a lot wouldn't be bothered about him leaving.

I do agree with the antics bit but..... one more year gives us a great shot at top 4, then we can sell and have the lure of CL again, we won't be buying Barca B players or the likes ( no disrespect to LA) but guys like Isco,Damiao, Negredo, Higuain etc.

That must be a great relief to you.

  13. Do you think Suarez is the difference between top four and not then?

Obviously it is not soley him, but ya I think he is key in not just his goals, assists, etc but the attention he draws. That attention leaves players like Coutinho, Sturridge, Aspas, etc with less respobility and more time. This can only bode well for the team. We shall see as if he does go, who do we bring in etc.

  15. I understand your point, especially as I think he is by far our best player and is arguably our only world class player too (arguably on the world class part, I'm not saying we might have more than just him).

However, I thought we played a lot better as a team without him in the last four games. Plus, his antics are ridiculous but, apart from the bans via this incidents, he hardly ever picks up a suspension so if we can get him the mental help he needs, who knows...

I just think his comments over the summer after letting everyone associated with the club down by biting someone is a bit too far.

I am angling on what I think will happen/BR wants to happen. If it is me managing the club, I would have already been in contact with the likes of ( some have moved on) Tevez, lisandro lopez, Soldado, Higuain, Siem De Jong, Salomon Rondon, Villa, Emenenke, Giovinco, etc to replace him and with the money brought in could have probably picked 2 of those in the list of names.

If you are going to sell someone for a substantial amount you have to invest in that same quality but you should be able to double it ( 20 mil could get at least two of the named players) and these are mainly forwards/SS.

  17. Oh, there is no doubt in my mind that, given the option, BR will not sell Suarez. Same as I truly believe Suarez wants to go because he feels he has not been given the backing he feels he deserves in both the Evra and Ivanovic incidents.

Like you, I would expect the club to have done some work in the background should Luis leave.

Same as if the club know that Suarez wants to go no matter what I would expect the club to say he isn't going anywhere and I would expect the club to tell potential suitors the same, pointing out the three years on his contract. Make them cough up or **** off <ok>

I know it is a dangerous game but I would like to have ( of said players mentioned) two of those deals practically done, let the suitors know the amount and maybe even buy one of them. Show we mean business and then if we over spent due to Suarez staying, is it such a bad thing if we get European footy? I think ****ing not!

I understand the concerns on wages and all that jazz but when you see Villa and Tevez go for so cheap, those wages can easily be made up for in CL money and you know they took a pay cut as well to join those sides!!!!!

    #1418
  19. We don't want to be committing to those sorts of wages before securing CL football, that is a very dangerous game, especially considering how competitive it is to get top four nowadays.

Dead Serious: Tevez wages are lets say 100K, if we were to keep suarez..... Would you have bought him ( of course if he was willing to come) for the same price Juve paid for him.

For me, it is an absolute 100% yes. You know what you are getting and that is quality. Tevez, Sturridge, Suarez, Coutinho would rip teams apart.
