Best thing about that was my curry - desperately poor performance. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

If we play like that against the French, we're gonna get slaughtered.

There was an intermittent lack of concentration that needs to be sorted.

I thought our stand out performer was Jill Scott.

Given the U-21's and the U-20's por showing, there was a part of me that wanted to skip this tournament. Not a summer for English football (or Kent cricket, come to that!).

After last night's game, I think a few FL clubs with dodgy back fours will be casting envious glances at Sweden's CB - and she's already got a George Formby haircut. Formidable player. <ok>

    That was awful.

Some of the team don't look fit (some even look, and I know this has to be said with care as it's a deeply sensitive subject, as if they're carrying too much weight) there was a lack of ideas and an almost complete lack of desire.

I think this side may have been picked on sentiment and reputation rather than on form - but Powell wouldn't be the first England manager to make that error.

If they are the best 11 female English footballers then god help us!

There was talk 12 months ago that Hope Powell could become the first female manager of an British professional football club................. don't make me laugh..... she wouldn't last five minutes.

Great night in a British pub in Spain (the Alcatraz, Calella, for anyone interested in a Spanish holiday with an English accent!) Great conversation, and fun all round, but it did'nt disguise the football on the telly. As far as I could tell, we got deservedly thrashed by France, and anyone who thinks the England manager, Hope Powell, could'nt manage a profesional team needs their head examined. If Pardew can get the contract he's got, and Graham Taylor manage England for years, the ladies manager has now got a CV some clubs would fight for. Sadly, not a good summer for English national teams, but hey, look at Andy Murray. Eventuallly, lightning strikes.

Definitely not happy or proud about getting this one right...:emoticon-0101-sadsm

Haven't seen a player as quick as Tomis in a while, she showed flashes of her pace in the Olympics but she was like a greyhound last night and the way Necib controlled midfield and curled that goal in was jaw-dropping.

Unlucky Russia who got knocked out after the drawing of lots... They've missed out on an opportunity to get hammered by Sweden.

I feel that Andy Murray should now be described as English in the media. British when he does OK, Scottish when he loses, English when he wins major tournaments. Makes sense. <ok>

Ken, are you honestly saying that Hope Powell is a better football manager than Pardew or Graham Taylor? Her CV as a manager..??.. some clubs would fight for her? What has she won?????..... ehh nothing!

Stuart Pearce lost his job as the U21 Manager because of a poor U21 Championship.... somebody has to take the blame for the dire England performances and that has to be the manager!

Last night was horrible to watch, an England team so bereft of confidence.

In a way it was quite nice of the French to be wasteful in taking their chances, almost out of sympathy.

She should be offered a director of football role within the womens game.
